Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: It is now disclaimer time.
[00:00:02] Speaker B: We are here to share Prince's works with the utmost authenticity, clarity and precision. This means there may be situations where the material being discussed may be sensitive or offensive to some. However, we have chosen to discuss his work as it was initially produced. We will not alter any of his original work to suit anyone's comfort, including our own. This podcast is to celebrate Prince and his works.
[00:00:29] Speaker C: Thank you for your support and understanding. Now on to the show.
[00:00:36] Speaker A: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet Suite podcast for the Prince Songbook. There are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen.
Welcome back to Sparkles. To Sparkles.
For another exciting and interesting episode of Alphabet. Sweet. Wait, what the hell?
[00:01:12] Speaker D: That's the Alphabet Suite. Yeah.
[00:01:14] Speaker A: I'm thinking, because I was just going in my head about the. Our hundredth and what song. And so I get, you know, remember when we.
[00:01:23] Speaker D: We're. We're getting close to it.
[00:01:25] Speaker A: Yeah. But I'm saying, remember when we first started with our Alphabet Street Alphabet Suite?
[00:01:29] Speaker D: You're back in that.
[00:01:30] Speaker A: I was going back into that.
[00:01:31] Speaker D: Going back in time.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: Yeah. So, anywho. Yeah. Welcome. I'm your host, Timothy.
[00:01:37] Speaker D: I am the other host, Pat.
[00:01:40] Speaker C: And I'm producer Errol.
[00:01:43] Speaker D: Rock on.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: So today we are going to talk about all that.
[00:01:52] Speaker D: How you need to bring glasses.
[00:01:54] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:01:56] Speaker D: Yeah. And. And don't restart your computer.
[00:01:58] Speaker A: Correct. It's zero percent still.
[00:02:01] Speaker D: It's horrible.
[00:02:02] Speaker A: All that.
[00:02:03] Speaker D: All that.
[00:02:04] Speaker A: All that.
[00:02:05] Speaker D: All of that. We just talked about all of that.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: We did, you know.
[00:02:12] Speaker D: I do not know. Enlighten me.
[00:02:14] Speaker A: While I was waiting for you to come back down.
[00:02:17] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:02:18] Speaker A: I was going through all sorts of different pictures of Carmen Electra.
[00:02:22] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:02:23] Speaker A: She's a pretty lady.
[00:02:24] Speaker D: She is.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: Outside of dark hair, she's very, very pretty.
Blondish color hair, stuff like that.
And you know, she's had one of them.
[00:02:39] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: You've never seen her in blonde hair.
[00:02:44] Speaker D: I don't recall ever seeing her with blonde hair. No.
[00:02:47] Speaker A: I'd show you, but your computer's. Yeah, it's doing, you know.
[00:02:52] Speaker D: So she has had one album, the one she did with Prince, self titled.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:02:58] Speaker D: However, she has done other music.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: Correct. She had singles.
[00:03:06] Speaker D: She had singles. And then like each single had multiple mixes of that. So you can still get other Carmen Electra songs.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: Not my point, though.
[00:03:16] Speaker D: Okay, what's your point?
[00:03:17] Speaker A: My point is she's done so much more outside of music than she has with music.
[00:03:22] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, Big time.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: And it's amazing because.
[00:03:29] Speaker D: Sounds like the grandkids are having a meltdown. Holy cow.
[00:03:34] Speaker A: Pretty soon you go Be hearing Mommy with the meltdown.
[00:03:36] Speaker D: I'm saying, what the heck? We're gonna have to, like, get. Build a soundproof studio instead of just what you're telling me.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: I want to soundproof this whole spot.
[00:03:48] Speaker D: Holy cow. Wow.
[00:03:50] Speaker A: So it amazes.
[00:03:52] Speaker D: Never build a home studio when you have grandkids.
[00:03:55] Speaker C: Oh, well, when I first had to go and they weren't here.
[00:03:58] Speaker D: Yeah, I know.
[00:03:59] Speaker A: True.
[00:04:00] Speaker D: So anyway.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: But it's always good to get to see the grandkids every day.
[00:04:10] Speaker D: Anyway, so where were you going with Carmen Electra?
[00:04:15] Speaker A: It. It shocks me because she has such a great voice.
[00:04:17] Speaker D: She does. You know, and she can rap really well.
[00:04:20] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:04:21] Speaker D: You know, yeah. So.
[00:04:24] Speaker C: But.
[00:04:25] Speaker D: But. So if I remember right, and I could be remembering wrong, but when. When her and Prince left, she got with, like, Dennis Rodman.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: Yeah. She married that idiot.
[00:04:36] Speaker D: Then she got with.
Who's the guy? The. The guitar. She's with Dave.
[00:04:43] Speaker C: Dave Navaro.
[00:04:43] Speaker D: Dave Navaro. And. And these people have all. They're like, oh, well, we'll help you put an album together.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:52] Speaker D: You know, well, help her put an album together.
You know, I. I love hearing her sing.
[00:05:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:05:01] Speaker D: You know, her album was amazing. Could have done way more than what it did because it is all that it is.
[00:05:09] Speaker A: Sure is.
[00:05:10] Speaker D: And a bag of chips and is it time for the bag of chips already?
[00:05:15] Speaker C: That would have been a good segue, but that was not my intention.
[00:05:18] Speaker D: No. So, yeah, this. There's actually an unreleased version of this song too.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: I would not know.
[00:05:28] Speaker D: No, you wouldn't. Because your computer is not 68.
[00:05:34] Speaker C: Oh, it's almost. Funny number.
[00:05:37] Speaker D: It's almost. Oh, okay. Yeah. So there is.
And it's really. I'm trying to.
It's a little different.
We have the unreleased version, and so that means everyone will get to hear it. If you go to our YouTube sister channel. It's only on YouTube. We don't do sister channels with the podcast or anything. You know, any of that stuff. We only do a sister channel on YouTube. Alphabet street or Alphabet. See, now you got me. Look at that Alphabet suite playlist where you get to hear all the songs and all the covers and all the remixes and all the samples and everything. So you'll get to hear the alternate version to all that.
[00:06:33] Speaker C: And it is always in the description of all the uploads.
What is the link to the YouTube channel?
[00:06:40] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. So you can click on it and.
[00:06:43] Speaker C: Take you right to it.
[00:06:44] Speaker D: Take you right to it. So we. We. It takes a little bit to get these all going because we we schedule them one a day.
So when you get a song like 1999 that had 100 and some odd different versions, it takes a little bit to get caught up to the current episode of what we're on. I think we're still doing some of the 1999s, but anyway, you will get to hear all this music as long as YouTube lets us put it up. They've blocked a few of them, so.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Yes, they did.
[00:07:14] Speaker C: It's copyrights. Let them have it.
[00:07:15] Speaker D: Yeah, they can do it. I mean, you can. You can find it and go listen to it anyway.
[00:07:20] Speaker C: I'm trying to make it easier on you.
[00:07:22] Speaker D: Yeah.
But anyway, so it's. It's a great song.
It's very. It's a slow groove. You know, it was done back in early 90s when Prince was really at the peak of his. His writing and creativity. I think. You know, to me that was his like sweet spot from like 87 to like 95, you know, maybe even before 87. But I mean he just.
He just was like banging. I mean, everything he did was great. And so this is a nice slow groove of, you know, a woman talking to her man, telling him, you all that and a bag of chips.
[00:08:08] Speaker A: I hope it wasn't Dennis Rodman she.
[00:08:10] Speaker D: Was trying to talk to at this time. She was with Prince, remember?
[00:08:13] Speaker A: All right, well, so hopefully she's never said any of that stuff to Dennis Rodman. How about that?
[00:08:21] Speaker D: I don't know.
[00:08:22] Speaker A: He's a really good basketball player, but he's a really strange dude.
[00:08:27] Speaker D: Really strange. Dave Navarro, huh? Prince's Prince was strange.
Dave Navarro is a little out there.
[00:08:35] Speaker A: But not like Dennis Rodman strange.
[00:08:39] Speaker D: No, it's a different kind of strange.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:42] Speaker D: They each have their own different kind of strange. Like a song like different kind of strange. It should be.
So I think she's still with Dave Navarro though, isn't she?
[00:08:55] Speaker A: I could not tell you.
[00:08:56] Speaker D: Why is that? Because your computer ain't working.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: Ah, it just came up.
[00:09:00] Speaker D: Did it? Yeah, yeah. I think for some reason I'm thinking she producer Aaron working on it. Okay.
So.
But yeah, it's. I like the song. I. There wasn't really anything off of her album I didn't like, honestly.
So.
Huh.
[00:09:23] Speaker C: They got divorced in 2007.
[00:09:26] Speaker D: Really? Wow. Where have I been?
[00:09:29] Speaker C: She had been engaged to Rob Patterson.
[00:09:32] Speaker D: From 08 to 12. Who's that?
[00:09:37] Speaker C: I don't know. He's an American guitarist.
[00:09:41] Speaker D: Oh, she sure likes her musicians, doesn't she?
[00:09:44] Speaker C: Currently single. Oh, interest according to who's dated who. Dot com.
[00:09:54] Speaker D: Shows what I know. I don't keep up with the.
The tabloids and who's. Who's dating who.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: Well, shame on you.
[00:10:02] Speaker D: I know. That's why they have a website. Yeah, apparently.
[00:10:05] Speaker C: Also dated Simon Cowell for a little bit.
[00:10:07] Speaker D: What?
[00:10:08] Speaker A: What?
[00:10:09] Speaker D: Really?
[00:10:10] Speaker A: That's wild.
[00:10:11] Speaker C: This is according to the sun, so.
[00:10:13] Speaker A: No.
[00:10:14] Speaker D: Well, there you go.
[00:10:16] Speaker C: Max George or linked in 2013.
Yeah, it's the last one.
[00:10:25] Speaker D: She's a pretty lady.
[00:10:26] Speaker A: Yes, she is.
[00:10:27] Speaker D: You know, but she and I. I really like that she has no problems like spoofing on herself. She doesn't take herself too seriously. You know, she seems okay, you know, from what I've seen and heard and know. But who knows, you know, we don't really know who anyone's like.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: This is true.
[00:10:50] Speaker C: Not to be that guy, but she does kind of seem like one of those ditzy blondes.
[00:10:55] Speaker D: Does she?
[00:10:56] Speaker C: To me, at least.
[00:11:01] Speaker D: Well, I mean, you know what they say. You can't fix stupid.
[00:11:04] Speaker C: I didn't call her stupid.
[00:11:06] Speaker A: Oh, shame on you.
[00:11:07] Speaker D: I'm not calling her stupid. I'm just saying.
[00:11:09] Speaker A: You just said they.
[00:11:10] Speaker D: You can't fix it.
That's all I'm saying.
[00:11:13] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:11:14] Speaker D: No, I. I like Carmen. I mean, no.
[00:11:16] Speaker C: No offense.
[00:11:16] Speaker D: She's good. Yeah. And. And I'm not trying to say she's stupid. And I know producer Aaron's not saying she is a ditzy blonde. He's just.
[00:11:24] Speaker C: He's got some of those tendencies.
[00:11:25] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:11:26] Speaker C: From what I've seen, it could just be acting as well.
[00:11:28] Speaker D: Yeah. Oh, my God.
[00:11:30] Speaker A: 2018.
[00:11:31] Speaker D: Picture her 2000. Are you looking her up now?
[00:11:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:35] Speaker D: Is she blonde?
[00:11:38] Speaker A: Blondish?
[00:11:39] Speaker D: Blondish.
[00:11:41] Speaker A: Would you stop?
[00:11:42] Speaker D: Let me see if I can look her up now. I'm gonna have to.
[00:11:49] Speaker A: Somehow. I exited the page.
[00:11:53] Speaker D: 2018, you said?
[00:11:55] Speaker A: Yep.
And she has no kids?
[00:11:59] Speaker D: No, she doesn't.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: She wanted kids before, but is it.
[00:12:03] Speaker D: Okay, which one am I looking at? There's a lot of pictures of her in 2018. Is she wearing a silver jacket?
[00:12:09] Speaker A: Give me a minute.
[00:12:10] Speaker D: Is she in a gold dress?
[00:12:11] Speaker A: Do you see her with different color hair?
[00:12:13] Speaker D: Yeah, a lot of blonde hair.
[00:12:16] Speaker A: Oh, hello. Where am I at?
[00:12:20] Speaker D: Well, and I'm pretty hot with Dave Navarro.
She.
She's posed in Playboy, so, I mean, she's not afraid to show it, you know?
[00:12:32] Speaker A: I don't know. I can't find the picture now.
[00:12:35] Speaker D: So just a beautiful woman, you know, physically, just.
She is.
[00:12:42] Speaker C: She's trying to live her best life, man.
[00:12:44] Speaker D: Yeah. You know, like I said, I like Carmen. I like everything. About her.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: However.
[00:12:51] Speaker D: However what?
[00:12:55] Speaker A: She is not. But looking good.
[00:12:57] Speaker C: No, I was waiting for that to come up.
[00:13:00] Speaker A: You know who is who? I found number two.
[00:13:03] Speaker D: You found number two on my list?
[00:13:05] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't think of her name.
[00:13:07] Speaker C: Is it Castos?
I thought you were leading but looking good into our ad spot, man.
[00:13:12] Speaker A: No, but hey, that would have been good. Yeah.
Uh, no, that's not where I was going with it, though.
[00:13:21] Speaker C: Papa bring us in. Bring us in for snack time while he tries to find this lady.
[00:13:26] Speaker D: So we're not. Even though we're not gonna snack on her back side.
We are going to do some snacks because we are partnered with Kastos and they.
They do a lot of cool things for us, like put us on Spotify, which I still find cool. We're like super official.
But yeah, they. You can. They're a podcasting distribution platform that has multiple services, so you can get automated transcriptions, you can get unlimited uploads, downloads. You can make money with ads or donations.
They got sources for data analytics. You know, you get to manage. If you have multiple podcasts, you can do it all from one.

So if you ever thought about podcasting, I'm not gonna say it's simple, but it's not as hard as I thought it was gonna be because we're just dumb enough to sit and talk in front of people. And, you know, and we got producer Aaron, who takes care of all the technical stuff. We just gotta look stupid. And we got that spades, man. We are good with that. So what do we have today, producer Aaron?
Oh, boy. This does not look like pleasant to my bungholio right now.
Pringles Hot ones, huh?
[00:14:56] Speaker C: That hot ones. The interview show or the hot wings?
[00:15:01] Speaker D: First we feast. Present hot ones.
I have no idea what that is, but just looking.
Did you just looking at this, I have a feeling that I could be in trouble right now.
It's all hot ones. Oh, boy.
I'm like, so not looking forward to this.
Oh, it smells hot.
Oh, man.
It says Royal Los Calientes.
Huh? Rojo.
Okay, I'm gonna take a couple. Just because I'm stupid.
I'm gonna serve them up to you.
Maybe if I just eat this side because it looks like it doesn't have any hot stuff on it.
[00:16:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I've never heard of this.
[00:16:18] Speaker D: You're taking a whole stack of these?
[00:16:20] Speaker A: Oh, yes.
[00:16:21] Speaker D: Dude, I'm gonna let you go first. On this one, man.
[00:16:26] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:16:27] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: What do you think?
Pringles is making out with the camera.
[00:16:37] Speaker D: And I love Pringles.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: I know you do. You love Pringles. And Timmy was complaining about those Doritos.
[00:16:44] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:16:45] Speaker C: So I'm like, yeah.
[00:16:45] Speaker D: Is it hot? Hot.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: And they are good. Oh, my God.
They are hot.
[00:16:56] Speaker D: I'm gonna get this in before I check it out, because I know I will.
[00:17:01] Speaker C: It does do it. It does the sauce justice.
[00:17:04] Speaker D: Yes.
Oh, yeah.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: Oh, that's.
These are good.
[00:17:16] Speaker C: The hot sauce is great, too.
[00:17:18] Speaker D: Oh, get the hot sauce. I'm gonna try, and it's not helping.
[00:17:22] Speaker A: That's not helping.
[00:17:23] Speaker D: No.
[00:17:23] Speaker C: So I got an ice cube.
[00:17:27] Speaker A: Maybe you should have brought two cups of water.
[00:17:30] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness. Yeah, right?
[00:17:33] Speaker A: It went up, like, up.
Oh, it's not supposed to go up.
[00:17:39] Speaker C: This is actually hotter to some degree than the hot sauce, but that could be because we're just eating it on a potato.
You know, I put the hot sauce on, like, my chicken and my sandwiches and stuff, but.
[00:17:51] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, you're gonna keep eating them.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: You want another?
[00:17:55] Speaker D: No, I do not.
[00:17:56] Speaker A: These are good. I like these.
[00:17:58] Speaker C: They are pretty good.
[00:18:00] Speaker D: No, they're hot.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: You said.
[00:18:03] Speaker D: No, but, oh, my goodness, of all.
[00:18:06] Speaker C: The snacks that I have, these are the spiciest ones.
[00:18:11] Speaker A: Good for you.
[00:18:13] Speaker C: So, Timmy talk trash.
[00:18:16] Speaker D: Told you.
[00:18:16] Speaker C: I'm gonna make them hot, make them sweat.
[00:18:21] Speaker D: Oh, you gonna keep eating them? Yeah, I'm just eating ice cube. I'm just eating ice cubes right now, man.
[00:18:30] Speaker A: Oh, I'm gonna look for that hot sauce, though.
[00:18:34] Speaker C: I got some upstairs if you want to try.
[00:18:36] Speaker D: Okay.
Those are hotter than Carmen, and she's hot.
[00:18:45] Speaker C: Quite tasty.
[00:18:49] Speaker D: You know what's cool?
[00:18:51] Speaker A: I turn that up.
[00:18:52] Speaker D: Not those chips.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: Not those chips.
[00:18:54] Speaker D: No.
[00:18:55] Speaker C: Castos is cool.
[00:18:56] Speaker D: Castos is cool.
[00:18:57] Speaker A: Very cool.
[00:18:58] Speaker C: Thank you, Castos.
[00:18:59] Speaker A: Thank you for burning his mouth.
[00:19:02] Speaker C: Mine too.
[00:19:04] Speaker D: I'm gonna run out of water. And ice chips.
[00:19:09] Speaker C: Ice chips are in the hospital now.
[00:19:11] Speaker D: Well, they're chips when I'm done chewing them.
[00:19:18] Speaker C: Oh, it's hurting, but I keep going back.
[00:19:22] Speaker D: That's because you're stupid.
[00:19:24] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:25] Speaker D: Oh.
Oh.
I don't know if I'm gonna be able to talk much longer.
[00:19:35] Speaker C: He's got to show you that girl.
Girl? The lady.
[00:19:40] Speaker D: The lady what? Lady.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: Number two, but looking good.
[00:19:45] Speaker D: Oh, it's not Carmen, huh?
[00:19:49] Speaker A: No, this is a white. This is a white girl.
Shocks me, you know, because nothing wrong with white females. Just more colorful, as you know.
[00:20:07] Speaker D: Okay, let me see.
[00:20:13] Speaker C: Pamela Anderson.
[00:20:15] Speaker D: Olivia Dunn.
And who is Olivia Dunn?
[00:20:25] Speaker A: I believe she was a gymnast.
[00:20:33] Speaker D: And she's butt looking good to you.
[00:20:35] Speaker A: Oh, Lord.
[00:20:39] Speaker D: Oh, I'm sure they know who Olivia Dunn is.
[00:20:41] Speaker A: Maybe not.
[00:20:42] Speaker D: That's worth a Google.
[00:20:43] Speaker A: I don't know, though. If they know who we are, would they really know who she is?
[00:20:48] Speaker D: American gymnast and influencer.
[00:20:51] Speaker C: You're way too young for you, buddy.
[00:20:54] Speaker D: It's only 22, dude.
[00:20:55] Speaker A: I know.
[00:20:57] Speaker D: Isn't that too old for you?
[00:20:58] Speaker A: What's that mean?
[00:20:59] Speaker D: Said, isn't that too old for you?
[00:21:01] Speaker A: Is that too old for me?
Thinking about shoving some of them chips down your mouth now.
[00:21:10] Speaker C: Apparently, she became a millionaire at aggressive 18.
[00:21:13] Speaker D: Really?
[00:21:14] Speaker C: According to the sun again?
[00:21:17] Speaker A: Very, very, very beautiful.
[00:21:19] Speaker D: She has a pretty girl.
Oh, wow.
That was hot.
[00:21:32] Speaker C: I didn't expect someone like that to be your number two.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:21:40] Speaker D: Or were you just feeling a little.
[00:21:41] Speaker C: Lonely during the Olympics?
[00:21:43] Speaker A: No.
[00:21:43] Speaker D: Was she in the Olympics?
[00:21:44] Speaker C: Oh, I don't know.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:21:45] Speaker D: I don't recall seeing her in the Olympics.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: I just seen her in an ad with one of my Games. You know, one of the stupid ads that pop up and she was doing an ad for some.
[00:21:56] Speaker D: According to this, they joggers or something.
[00:21:59] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:22:00] Speaker D: She's worth $9.5 million, so.
That's a lot of money.

[00:22:17] Speaker D: You better lick that buck good if you want some of that money, man.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: I'll be all up in that. What you talking about?

[00:22:26] Speaker C: Looks like.
[00:22:30] Speaker D: What, your mouth is on fire now, too, ain't it?
[00:22:34] Speaker A: It is. All right, so I'm gonna do my notes now, okay. Since we went all over the place.

[00:22:55] Speaker C: You all right over there, dad? I'm hurting.
[00:22:58] Speaker D: I'm good. I only ate two of them things. I didn't eat half the can.

[00:23:28] Speaker D: And there's a lot of talking in this one.
[00:23:30] Speaker A: It was, you know, her voice, to me, is like the equivalent of what Barry White's voice Does.
[00:23:35] Speaker D: Oh, the soothing. Oh, yeah.
[00:23:37] Speaker A: God, yeah. So she had me in the mood. I was ready for my chicky there.
[00:23:41] Speaker D: You're ready to go grab Olivia.

[00:23:48] Speaker D: Yeah, she does have a very soothing voice. She does. Yeah.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: So that's it for my notes. I love the song. I think it's great.
[00:23:55] Speaker D: Yeah. You know, and actually, like I said, this whole album, start to finish, was just a great album.
[00:24:00] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:24:01] Speaker D: I mean, you got slow grooves like this. You got dance hits, you got. I mean, it covers the. You know, so.
