[00:00:00] Speaker A: It is now Discover Time. [00:00:02] Speaker B: We are here to share Prince's works with the utmost authenticity, clarity and precision. This means there may be situations where the material being discussed may be sensitive or offensive to some. However, we have chosen to discuss his work as it was initially produced. We will not alter any of his original work to suit anyone's comfort, including our own. This podcast is to celebrate Prince and his works. [00:00:29] Speaker C: Thank you for your support and understanding. Now on to the show. [00:00:36] Speaker D: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet Suite podcast for the Prince Songbook. There are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen. [00:00:50] Speaker E: J. [00:00:53] Speaker C: That's me. [00:00:59] Speaker A: Just me. [00:01:00] Speaker E: It is you. [00:01:01] Speaker A: It is me. [00:01:02] Speaker E: It is you. Yes, you did. [00:01:06] Speaker A: Welcome back to another episode of Alphabet Suite podcast. I am your host, Timothy. [00:01:13] Speaker E: I am your co host, Pat. [00:01:15] Speaker C: I'm producer Aaron. We seem to be going a more serious mode this time. Did the candy really scare that out of you? [00:01:23] Speaker E: He's. He's not feeling well right now. Yeah, that was a rough one. Yeah. Yeah. [00:01:31] Speaker A: My stomach feels like when I eat macaroni and cheese. [00:01:34] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, That's a weird comparison. [00:01:38] Speaker A: Well, because it makes me sick. Oh, it tastes good going in, but I can't eat it because it makes me throw up. [00:01:43] Speaker E: Really? Macaroni and cheese? [00:01:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:46] Speaker E: But you like the flavor? [00:01:47] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, it's okay. [00:01:48] Speaker C: Any brand. Even if it's like homemade. [00:01:53] Speaker A: Every brand I've ever had. I mean, I've had like, you know, craft, Velveeta, I've had baked, I've had homemade. I've made have. You know, I just. [00:02:03] Speaker E: It just doesn't agree with you. Huh? [00:02:05] Speaker C: Maybe you have a dairy thing. [00:02:07] Speaker E: No, cuz he eats ice cream and other stuff. [00:02:10] Speaker A: I'm not a big on ice cream, but yeah, I can eat it. It doesn't bother me. [00:02:14] Speaker E: And he likes Oreo creamer. [00:02:15] Speaker A: I do. [00:02:17] Speaker C: Well, he likes the Mac and cheese, but it also makes him sick. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Yeah, but I like macaroni. I. I can eat macaroni by itself, you know, like, or with tuna fish. I can eat cheese by itself or with french fries. And it's fine. [00:02:28] Speaker E: Just mix them together and then something about it. [00:02:31] Speaker A: It's like bacon and bread. It doesn't freaking go together. It's gross. The texture of it's horrible. [00:02:38] Speaker C: Oh, I love bread, dude. BLTs are. [00:02:40] Speaker A: No, gross. Can't do it. [00:02:43] Speaker E: Wow. [00:02:43] Speaker A: But like, I could put it on toast. [00:02:47] Speaker E: That's bread. [00:02:48] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:02:49] Speaker C: Do you like bacon on your cheeseburgers? [00:02:51] Speaker A: It's okay. I don't prefer it. [00:02:54] Speaker C: Do you like cheeseburgers? [00:02:55] Speaker A: I love cheeseburgers. [00:02:57] Speaker E: Do you like bacon? [00:02:59] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:03:00] Speaker C: So just. See, there it is. [00:03:01] Speaker E: I was gonna say it's a bacon thing. [00:03:03] Speaker A: It's just when it absorbs into the bread, it's horrible. [00:03:08] Speaker E: Yeah, but it sounds like you're not even really a huge fan of bacon. [00:03:11] Speaker A: No, I'm not like, big, big on bacon. [00:03:14] Speaker E: So what country are you from? Cuz you ain't America. [00:03:18] Speaker A: Canada. I like the Canadian bacon. I don't like ham neither. It's horrible. I like Spam, though. Spam's really good. [00:03:27] Speaker E: That's just like. [00:03:28] Speaker A: No, it's not the same thing. [00:03:30] Speaker E: It's just like different bits and pieces of ham and stuff. [00:03:33] Speaker A: Different taste. You know the difference? [00:03:35] Speaker C: Just because they put season in every eating Spam. [00:03:38] Speaker A: Really? [00:03:38] Speaker E: Yeah, it's just seasoned. That's why they cure it and season it and just. [00:03:43] Speaker A: Have you not tasted Spam? It is. [00:03:45] Speaker E: So did you know you taste. Did you know there's like a like ton of different flavors of Spam? [00:03:54] Speaker A: I know this. They got bacon flavored Spam. [00:03:57] Speaker C: I mean, it makes sense. It's a pork product. [00:03:59] Speaker E: Exactly. So anyway, do pizza flavored. [00:04:03] Speaker A: Hey, Hormel. [00:04:05] Speaker C: There you go. [00:04:07] Speaker E: So what are we talking about today? [00:04:10] Speaker A: All I want is you. [00:04:11] Speaker E: Oh, thank you. Yeah. And why are we talking about this? [00:04:17] Speaker A: I don't know. Because it's next on the list. [00:04:21] Speaker E: I have no idea. I don't know what the song is. [00:04:24] Speaker A: Never heard it. [00:04:24] Speaker C: Bob Dylan's associated with it. That's what we're talking about. [00:04:27] Speaker E: Is that why. [00:04:31] Speaker A: So today was actually the first day I've ever heard this song. [00:04:35] Speaker E: Okay. [00:04:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:37] Speaker E: Which kind of makes sense. [00:04:38] Speaker A: I mean, what's her name again? [00:04:39] Speaker E: Tamar. [00:04:40] Speaker A: Tamar. Tamar Davis. [00:04:43] Speaker E: Tamar Davis. Pretty young lady. [00:04:45] Speaker A: Yeah, she is. She's got a good voice. [00:04:48] Speaker E: Beautiful voice. Speaking of beautiful voice, she was on the Voice. [00:04:54] Speaker A: Really? [00:04:54] Speaker E: Yeah. She didn't win it. She went pretty far. But yeah, she. After this was long after this and she already had like a couple album because she's done some. She's got like three, I want to say three self produced solo albums. [00:05:08] Speaker A: Okay. [00:05:08] Speaker E: Not counting this and. Yeah, but she was on the Voice. [00:05:13] Speaker A: And she didn't win. [00:05:15] Speaker E: No, she didn't win. [00:05:16] Speaker A: That's horrible. [00:05:17] Speaker E: I know who won. I don't remember who won that year. [00:05:19] Speaker A: Yeah, see, look at that. But we would know who this one is. [00:05:22] Speaker E: Yeah, we would. [00:05:23] Speaker A: I'm just saying. [00:05:23] Speaker E: Yeah. I want to say I think she was on Adam's team. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Who? [00:05:27] Speaker E: Adam. Adam from Maroon 5? [00:05:36] Speaker A: I don't know him. [00:05:37] Speaker E: I know you know Maroon 5, the lead singer. [00:05:39] Speaker A: Okay. I didn't know his name was Adam. [00:05:41] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:05:42] Speaker A: Okay. [00:05:43] Speaker C: So I just pulled up her IMDb yeah, her name is Ashley. [00:05:46] Speaker E: Ashley Tamar Davis. Yeah. [00:05:48] Speaker C: Known as the museum and protege of Prince. [00:05:53] Speaker E: The muse of Prince. [00:05:55] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:56] Speaker A: What does that mean? [00:05:58] Speaker E: A muse is a musical inspiration. Did you also know she was originally part of Destiny's Child? [00:06:09] Speaker A: Really? [00:06:10] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:06:11] Speaker A: What happened? [00:06:13] Speaker E: I don't remember exactly what happened. I know she. I don't think she got kicked out. I think she had to leave for something and so they brought in one of the other girls. But yeah, she was originally one of the three in Destiny's Child. So, I mean, she is good singer. And so she got hooked up with Prince. I don't know how they ended up getting hooked up, but he was big. He had her on tour with them. He even went on her. She had a little mini tour that she did and he played guitar for her on her tour to try to draw attention. They put the. Prince made the album Milk and Honey for her and it kept getting pushed back and getting pushed back and finally it just got canceled. But a few of them actually made it out in Japan. So there are copies of this out there, which is how we got it, because someone got it and then they put it out on the Internet, of course. So we have a copy of the album. Great album. I don't know why it ever got pushed back. But this is one of the songs off of there. So what'd you think of the song? [00:07:28] Speaker A: Well, it was good. It isn't. I don't, you know, not my cup of tea, but apparently it was currently on tour. [00:07:35] Speaker C: Is she with the Stuart Copeland Orchestra? [00:07:39] Speaker E: Stuart Copeland? [00:07:41] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:07:41] Speaker E: Huh. [00:07:45] Speaker C: She's been in a few movies too. Like, what a bunch of Medeas. [00:07:52] Speaker E: Really? [00:07:58] Speaker C: She was in some TV series and TV movies. [00:08:02] Speaker E: Wow. So she's a busy girl. [00:08:06] Speaker C: That's Tyler Perry stuff. [00:08:07] Speaker E: Really good for her. I like her. I always thought she was pretty good. She's a pretty young lady too. I don't know if she's butt licking good, but. [00:08:21] Speaker C: No, she's pretty. [00:08:28] Speaker E: You got something to say, don't you? [00:08:30] Speaker A: I'm just reading. [00:08:31] Speaker E: What you reading? [00:08:31] Speaker A: Milk and Honey. [00:08:33] Speaker E: Oh, about the album? Yeah. What about it? [00:08:36] Speaker A: You've already covered it and, you know, pushed back and all that. Oh, just, you know, finally it just canceled it, which is weird. [00:08:46] Speaker E: If it got canceled, how did these copies get out in Japan? You know? [00:08:51] Speaker A: And these are like done copies, right? They're like. [00:08:53] Speaker E: Yeah, they're legitimate copies. Because this, that's the Thing. This is all pressed and ready to go. Kind of like the Black album. Remember, he had that all ready to go and then he destroyed them all. But yet a few copies got out, right? Same. Same thing. So there was actual copies ready to go. And why would you waste all that money on getting something ready to go and then say, oh, no, we're not going to do it? [00:09:15] Speaker A: That's kind of dumb. [00:09:16] Speaker E: Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me. [00:09:18] Speaker A: It was actually called Wild Child then Beautiful, Loved and Blessed before the name was finally picked. Milk and Honey. [00:09:28] Speaker E: Yeah. And you know the part of the song Wild Child, they took it off when they changed. We're changing all the names. So Wild Child is not on Milk and Honey. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Really? [00:09:41] Speaker E: Yeah. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed is, but Wild Child is not, so. But yeah, she came back and started doing music on her own, and she's got, like, at least three other CDs that. That I have. Different kind of feel. It's still the same pop kind of stuff, but you don't get the Prince Funk in it, you know? But, yeah, I enjoyed it. I like the song. There's. There's no. I can't find any. It's one version. No samples, no covers, of course, you know, because it never made it out so. [00:10:30] Speaker A: Horrible. [00:10:33] Speaker E: And it's like, almost two and a half minutes into the song before she finally says, all I want is you, which is the name of the song. [00:10:42] Speaker A: That's funny. [00:10:43] Speaker E: So. But you know what's not funny? Podcasting. [00:10:51] Speaker C: It can be. [00:10:52] Speaker E: Well, yeah, it can be. That was a horrible segue, but I was trying to talk about our partners, Kastos, because it's that time. Did you want to try this again? [00:11:05] Speaker A: I can try this again. [00:11:06] Speaker E: I'm going to hand our notes over to Tim and see if he can hit on any of the key talking points that we do here. So talk to me about Castos, Tim. [00:11:18] Speaker A: Well, here at Alphabet Sweet Podcast, and we are affiliated with Castos. [00:11:24] Speaker E: We sure are. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Because, you know, they're just rocking like that, right? [00:11:28] Speaker E: For all your podcasting needs. [00:11:30] Speaker A: It's a podcasting distribution platform. You don't get that much from anybody. [00:12:05] Speaker E: Anymore, you know, anywhere. [00:12:07] Speaker A: Except for that hooker last week. [00:12:08] Speaker E: Her prices fluctuate, too. Just like her teeth Count. [00:12:17] Speaker A: Okay. Her teeth. [00:12:26] Speaker E: That choked you up. Maybe one of the teeth went down your throat. [00:12:30] Speaker A: Oh, Lord, this is messed up. [00:12:33] Speaker E: So what else do they offer us, Tim? [00:12:36] Speaker A: They offer. Okay. You can make money with dynamic. Did I just say that? No, I didn't. [00:13:11] Speaker E: I did not. [00:13:12] Speaker A: You can make money with dynamic ad insertions. [00:13:18] Speaker E: You like insertions, don't you? [00:13:21] Speaker A: I have a hard time with big words. I'm sorry. Ad insertions one time. Or reoccurring donations, paid private podcasts and more. Multiple sources for data analyst. I did that one already. I skipped that one. I'm sorry. [00:13:36] Speaker E: It's all right. [00:14:18] Speaker E: That's all right. [00:14:19] Speaker A: I'm doing it. [00:14:20] Speaker E: You broke the guitar. [00:14:23] Speaker A: This is why I don't do the things. [00:14:25] Speaker E: Yeah, no. So anyway, if you want a 14 day free trial of Kastos, check out our links below and get everything that Tim said and more. Probably better too. So, Kastos, what do we have for snack time today? [00:14:42] Speaker A: Oh, that was horrible. [00:14:44] Speaker E: Heads up, Tim. It's coming your way. What do we got? [00:14:49] Speaker C: I forgot I used to do that. [00:14:51] Speaker E: Just throw it at you. Yeah, you did. It's been so long. [00:14:54] Speaker A: This will be interesting. [00:14:56] Speaker E: What is it? Steakhouse Onion flavored Funyuns. Huh. [00:15:05] Speaker A: Sounds like it's got potential. [00:15:08] Speaker E: I'm not a Funyun fan. [00:15:09] Speaker A: Really? Yeah, Yeah, I can take them or leave them, but. [00:15:12] Speaker E: Well, you're gonna take one now. [00:15:14] Speaker A: I sure am. [00:15:15] Speaker E: At least one. Some blooming onion. That's just trademark. Have funions always look like real onion rings? Yes. Huh? No, not really. Oh, that's way too many. Okay, I guess I'm taking that many. Onions are good. I like So I like onion rings. I like. Yeah, I like. Oh, wow. That's a strong smell. Yeah, it tastes like a blooming onion. So I like onion flavor. I like onions themselves. It's the texture I have a problem with. But like, if I'm gonna eat onion rings, I love, like, Burger King where they dice them up, and those are my favorite. I love Burger King onion rings. [00:16:26] Speaker C: Huh? The additional flavoring. [00:16:39] Speaker E: Oh. Oh. Is this what a Funyun tastes like? [00:16:45] Speaker C: No, it's more than just a funy. [00:16:49] Speaker E: I said I'm not a fan. These are not. Not my thing. An actual blooming onion tastes way better about it. Waiting for Tim to chime in. He's sitting there with this weird look on his face. [00:17:13] Speaker A: Well, it is a weak taste of the flavor, but it's good. [00:17:31] Speaker E: You like it? [00:17:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:17:34] Speaker C: Those aren't limited time. [00:17:36] Speaker E: Oh, finally we got something that may be around for people to try. Yeah, I think so far my favorite still has been those dill pickle flavored puffs. I really like those. [00:17:54] Speaker A: Did I like those? [00:17:56] Speaker E: I. I think I did. I think we all really like those. [00:17:59] Speaker C: Kind of hard to dislike those. [00:18:01] Speaker E: Those were. Those were amazing. But that was so long ago. We'll probably never ever see them again. So. Anyway, so all I want is you. Prince did most of the. [00:18:18] Speaker C: Thanks, Castos. [00:18:19] Speaker E: Yeah, Prince did most of the instruments, except for Michael B. On drums and Sonny T. On the bass guitar. But I really wish they would have released this album, you know, I mean, yeah, we have the music, but I would love to actually have had a copy of the cd. And, you know, you know me, I'm a kind of a physical media type of guy. I'd much rather have a CD in my hand than a hard drive full of MP3s or whatever, you know? [00:18:52] Speaker A: All right, I'm with you on that. For real. [00:18:54] Speaker E: I don't know. I just. There's just something about that physical, you know, I don't know. Same with books. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Audiobooks. [00:19:05] Speaker E: You like audiobooks? [00:19:06] Speaker A: I have to. I hate reading. [00:19:08] Speaker E: But do you even listen to audiobooks? [00:19:10] Speaker A: Not at all. [00:19:11] Speaker C: I do. [00:19:12] Speaker E: You listen to audiobooks? [00:19:14] Speaker A: Yep. [00:19:14] Speaker E: Of what? [00:19:16] Speaker C: I've been going through a lot of Dolores Cannon's works lately. [00:19:19] Speaker E: Oh, okay. So do you like that better than reading? [00:19:27] Speaker C: It's equal to me. I'll have it playing while I'm in the shower or, like, doing, you know. [00:19:33] Speaker E: I will say morning routine. That is probably one of the benefits to audiobooks is if you don't have time to actually sit down and read. But you want to read the book, why not have someone read it to you? [00:19:46] Speaker C: It's a very similar idea to people that like listening to podcasts. [00:19:50] Speaker E: Yeah, I get it. I mean, I'm not against it. [00:19:53] Speaker C: So if you're listening to us in the shower. Kudos. I get it. [00:19:56] Speaker E: Yeah, you scrub yourself, you dirty little girl. Or man. [00:20:04] Speaker C: Oh, I mean, you're obviously dirty if you're taking. [00:20:08] Speaker E: If you're taking a shower, you're dirty. Clean yourself up and don't forget to wash your butt. [00:20:13] Speaker C: Get behind the ears. [00:20:14] Speaker E: Get behind the ears. [00:20:14] Speaker C: Everybody forgets behind the ears. [00:20:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:20:19] Speaker C: You got a partner in there with you. Do backs back and forth. [00:20:23] Speaker A: Yep. [00:20:24] Speaker E: And whatever else comes along. [00:20:26] Speaker C: No, no, no. Different show. [00:20:28] Speaker E: No, we're just scrubbing here. Or just cleaning it up. All right. Any more you want to talk about with? All I want is you. [00:20:37] Speaker A: Your mouse is purple. [00:20:38] Speaker C: Do you like that? Was that intentional? [00:20:40] Speaker A: Yes. [00:20:41] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, I kind of like it, though. [00:20:44] Speaker C: I'm sure it's not good enough for me, but I like the way it looks, so welcome. [00:20:51] Speaker E: If you want to reach out and touch someone, give us a shout. I think it's back in the 80s. You think Prince wanted to touch her? Samantha Fox? Touch me? You think he wanted to? [00:22:37] Speaker E: Okay, back in the 80s, who didn't want to touch her? [00:22:40] Speaker A: Yeah, I wonder what she looks like now. [00:22:43] Speaker E: She was. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Dude, she was almost butt licking good back then. [00:22:46] Speaker C: She's talking about Tamar. [00:22:48] Speaker E: No, Samantha Fox. She's. She's aged well. I. I don't think you would like her anymore. [00:22:57] Speaker A: No. [00:22:58] Speaker E: Well, look her up. She just got married. [00:23:00] Speaker C: She looks like an Old white woman who listens to a lot of Alice Cooper. [00:23:05] Speaker E: Yeah. She just got married to her. I want to say it was her agent because, you know, she's gay. So what? Yeah. What, she's a lesbian? [00:23:16] Speaker A: No. [00:23:17] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:23:18] Speaker C: Linda Olson. [00:23:19] Speaker E: Is that her wife? Yeah. Yeah. She's not that pretty, but Samantha Fox, bikini magazine thing. Samantha Fox still ain't too bad. I mean, for being close to 60. [00:23:40] Speaker C: I would, you know, turn my display. [00:23:41] Speaker E: So you could see, but you wouldn't be able to see. No, he's looking her up now. [00:23:47] Speaker C: Lots of bikini shoots. [00:23:49] Speaker E: Not now. [00:23:51] Speaker A: No, she's not bad. [00:23:53] Speaker E: No, she's not bad. [00:23:54] Speaker C: Oh, that's a see through top. [00:23:56] Speaker A: She aged good. [00:23:57] Speaker E: Oh, you can see her topless anywhere. [00:23:59] Speaker A: Yeah, you can. [00:24:00] Speaker E: So that girl's been topless more times than I have. [00:24:04] Speaker A: And she. To me, and she was. I think she was a really good singer. I loved her. Yeah. [00:24:08] Speaker E: Oh, I loved her music. [00:24:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:10] Speaker E: Yeah. She started out as a Page three girl. [00:24:15] Speaker C: Where did I miss Where Samantha Fox. [00:24:19] Speaker E: Came in because Tim asked If in the 80s, if Prince wanted to touch her because that was her big song. Touch me. Oh, I don't know. Where? [00:24:30] Speaker A: I don't know. It just popped into my head, bro. I'm sorry. I don't know. [00:24:32] Speaker C: Anyway, yeah, so she was nude in the Bush era. Darn it. [00:24:37] Speaker E: She's nude. All this. She was bushy. Yeah. [00:24:42] Speaker C: The president. [00:24:43] Speaker E: Oh. [00:24:44] Speaker A: Oh. [00:24:47] Speaker E: Gotcha. [00:24:48] Speaker A: We are done. [00:24:49] Speaker E: We.
