[00:00:00] Speaker A: It is now disclaimer time. [00:00:02] Speaker B: We are here to share Prince's works with the utmost authenticity, clarity, and precision. This means there may be situations where the material being discussed may be sensitive or offensive to some. However, we have chosen to discuss his work as it was initially produced. We will not alter any of his original work to suit anyone's comfort, including our own. This podcast is to celebrate Prince and his works. [00:00:29] Speaker C: Thank you for your support and understanding. Now onto the show. [00:00:35] Speaker D: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet podcast for the Prince songbook. There are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen affirmation number one. [00:00:49] Speaker E: Hello, everyone. Did I scare you? [00:00:53] Speaker A: No. Mister Rogers time. [00:00:56] Speaker E: It's. It's that time. What time is it, you may ask? It's time for another episode of the Alphabet Suite podcast. [00:01:04] Speaker A: Mm hmm. [00:01:07] Speaker E: I am your host, Pat. [00:01:11] Speaker A: I am your host, Timothy. Wait, that sounds sexual, though. [00:01:15] Speaker E: And I'm producer Aaron Rod. Let's bring it back to reality. You see how he does that? So today we are going to talk about one of Prince's little. [00:01:28] Speaker A: Are you going to continue doing that? [00:01:30] Speaker E: No, I'm going to. I got, like, some velcro on the floor on one of the cables that, like, is sticking to me. Oh, so am I going to continue to do what? [00:01:39] Speaker A: Yeah, not that. I mean, you do that all you want. [00:01:42] Speaker C: We should probably fix that. [00:01:43] Speaker E: Yeah, we probably should. Because it was, like, getting me. I felt like I was being attacked. Exactly. But today we are going to talk about affirmation one and two. [00:02:02] Speaker A: Yes, we are. We sure are. [00:02:04] Speaker E: Yep. Would you like me to start it? [00:02:06] Speaker A: You do it. [00:02:07] Speaker E: So it was on his album artificial age, which that I thought was a great album. So and so. I don't want to ever. I'm trying to think of a nice way to put this. I don't want to ever say prince was, like, ever gone. You know, that he had to make a comeback because Prince was always here, and he was always doing stuff. He was always just doing different stuff. And sometimes it was more mainstream, and sometimes it wasn't. However, if we were to look at things and in the way of, you know, like, popularity and everything, I think when he did artificial age, because that was, like, his 37th album, so he did that and plectrum, electrum at the same time. And those two albums, to me, were, like a huge. I'm gonna use the air quotes. Comeback. These two albums are amazing, both of them. [00:03:15] Speaker A: So I honestly thought you're going the other way with that. It's just, like, the lead up, and it's, like, just. It was air quotes. Horrible. [00:03:25] Speaker E: No, no. So these albums, to me, were like his back in Prince form, where he was just rocking. I mean, it was just good stuff. The funny thing about this is it's called affirmation one and two. But when you listen to it, it's only. It's less than a minute long. Okay. It's 40 seconds long. And all it really is is the song. Way back home, you hear that music, and it's just this girl. Who is it? Leanne Le Chavez is the woman who's talking through it, just like narrating. Prince is in the future now, and it says affirmation one and two. But she only gives one affirmation. So what's the second affirmation? Who's that? [00:04:27] Speaker A: That's the voice. [00:04:30] Speaker E: That's Leanne Le Chavas. Oh, she's cute. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Yeah, she is. [00:04:36] Speaker E: She plays guitar. Apparently, the second one is for you to decipher. [00:04:43] Speaker C: How do you like those never ending stories? [00:04:46] Speaker E: But what do you use to decipher the affirmation? Yes. So, yeah, I mean, it was really just more of a little segue, you know, to way back home than anything, you know? So, yeah, there's not much to this song. It really just made no sense to me. Other than it being a segue to our sponsor. No. No one got it segway a segue. But they're not a sponsor. They're our partner. [00:05:29] Speaker C: That's true, but I was making an Internet reference. [00:05:31] Speaker E: Oh, so it's a segue to our. What are you looking at, dude? Do you have notes you want to read? [00:05:39] Speaker A: I do. Oh, that's really quick. [00:05:41] Speaker E: Okay. So was the song. Your notes are probably longer than the song was. [00:05:46] Speaker A: It may be. All right. Um. I said, uh, not really sure what I could possibly say about this, except for she does sound sexy. And now I see today what she looks like, and you're like, that. [00:06:00] Speaker E: She looks sexy. [00:06:01] Speaker A: That's it. That's all I got. [00:06:02] Speaker C: What's up, party people? I do not want to try to talk about this little snippet. Again. [00:08:04] Speaker A: Rap snacks. [00:08:05] Speaker E: Again. [00:08:06] Speaker A: Again. [00:08:07] Speaker E: Rap snacks. [00:08:08] Speaker A: Rick Ross. [00:08:10] Speaker E: Rick Ross. What has he got? [00:08:13] Speaker A: Crabs? [00:08:16] Speaker E: That doesn't sound like. That sounds like a hospital visit. Mandev. [00:08:24] Speaker A: I got some people coming for me. Look at there. Like with Tony. See? Sweet chili, lemon pepper. [00:08:32] Speaker E: That sounds horrible. These are all, like, southern. Southern style. You know, apparently the goal is to be rich forever. To be rich forever. [00:08:58] Speaker A: Every day is a perfect opportunity to reach your goal. Measure success by how many people you bless. Rick Ross. [00:09:06] Speaker E: Okay, now let's see if he's gonna bless us with a good snack. [00:09:11] Speaker A: You can reach him. Oh, sorry. You can visit him at Alphabet Sweet podcast on Facebook because he's there. [00:09:23] Speaker E: No, he's not. Shut up. [00:09:25] Speaker A: It's a rumor. Pass a rumor around. Well, at least they ain't sticky things. [00:09:40] Speaker E: What? [00:09:41] Speaker A: Who shops for this horrible crap? [00:09:42] Speaker E: We all do. Stop it. Every one of us has brought something into this. [00:09:51] Speaker A: Smell them. [00:09:55] Speaker E: Oh, that smells like locker room. [00:09:57] Speaker A: Mm hmm. Mm. Hey, knock it off. [00:10:01] Speaker E: Against my better judgment, I'm gonna grab two. [00:10:03] Speaker A: Oh, lord. [00:10:08] Speaker E: They are very red, and they are very powdery, so there's going to be a lot of. Oh, torture. Oh, that is horrible. Oh, all right, so what did you say? Not too bad? Yeah, it's not that bad. [00:10:53] Speaker A: That's freaking gross. [00:10:55] Speaker E: That is nasty. So you know how usually when we do a snack time, you know, we find these limited edition things or something cool to try? A lot of times we find them in, like, Sam's or something like that, and we try them, and then we like them, we go back to get them, and they're gone. Right. These were a limited edition thing. I bought them, I went back, they're still there. [00:11:22] Speaker A: Of course. [00:11:22] Speaker E: I went back again. They're still there. I went back again, they're still there. Well, that box you got might have been. These are gas stations. Oh, are they? Yeah. Okay, well, that would explain why they're still there. Yeah. So you can actually buy these everywhere if you. If you so choose to. [00:11:46] Speaker A: That is horrible. [00:11:47] Speaker E: Those are horrible. I prefer the little baby ones over these, but. And they were bad. Oh, all right. So you wouldn't buy them, but if someone had them, you'd eat them. Yeah. I am not a fan of those. I am finding that these wrappers have some strange tastes in their chip selection, you know? [00:12:24] Speaker A: No, I'm not gonna go there. Nevermind. [00:12:27] Speaker E: You don't want to die. [00:12:28] Speaker A: No. [00:12:30] Speaker E: Cause, you know, you're not affiliated, right? [00:12:34] Speaker A: Oh, I was like, what? [00:12:35] Speaker E: The cat over. There's a cat over there. [00:12:39] Speaker A: He's in the box. [00:12:43] Speaker E: Yeah. So anyway, no good. Not a fan of those. Leanne Lejava's is hot. We've decided. [00:12:52] Speaker C: The heat's starting to hit me a bit. [00:12:53] Speaker E: Is it? [00:12:54] Speaker A: See, I don't get no heat. [00:12:56] Speaker C: Well, you didn't eat enough. [00:12:57] Speaker E: It's not. And it's not as hot as the Doritos. Dina, meat sticks. Those had more heat. So. So, yeah, basically, this is our episode on the Segway. Are you gonna do it? He. He's combining one of his lime hot limes with. With one of these. Let's see. [00:13:25] Speaker C: I don't see that going well. [00:13:28] Speaker E: No, cuz these are kind of tangy anyway. [00:13:31] Speaker A: No, because this stands out even past the lime. [00:13:35] Speaker E: Trumps the flavor. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Wow. Horrible. [00:13:42] Speaker C: We got a bad snack. [00:13:43] Speaker E: Yeah, we did. It seems to be. Seems to be our lot in life. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Here lately, I'm gonna tell you. Just so you know, when I go, I'm gonna start going to these little cigarette shops, gas stations where they have the funky stuff. And that's what I look for. I try to look for the funkiest thing that I could see. And I'm finding out that these little, like, mom and pop grocery stores, you. [00:14:13] Speaker E: Know, they get the weird stuff. [00:14:14] Speaker A: They get all the weird stuff. The gas station, the cigarette shops. You go to Walmart and, you know, sandwich, whatever. Not so much. You know, you can't find this stuff, but. Yeah. [00:14:25] Speaker E: Okay, well, so one thing I was looking at, just for recording personnel on this. There's a harp played by string genius. [00:14:35] Speaker A: String. [00:14:36] Speaker E: String genius. Yes. And Joshua Welton played on here, too, which Joshua Welton is married to the drummer of third eye girl. [00:14:44] Speaker A: Right. [00:14:45] Speaker E: Yeah. So. And she's hot, too. Anyway, so. Yeah, that's our. Our little snippet on affirmation one and two. Even though we only got one affirmation, according to producer Aaron. Yeah. What did you say? You gotta decipher your own. Yeah. [00:15:02] Speaker C: You figure it out on your own. [00:15:03] Speaker E: Figure out your own affirmation, too. Based on. [00:15:05] Speaker C: Yes. [00:15:06] Speaker E: Based on. Yes. So what's that? That's that string genius. [00:15:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:17] Speaker E: Is that a guy or a girl? [00:15:18] Speaker A: That is a. [00:15:20] Speaker E: Looks like a girl, huh. Okay, well, she played the harp, and obviously she's strong. [00:15:29] Speaker A: She's holding. [00:15:29] Speaker E: She's holding up a cello. [00:15:31] Speaker C: Yeah, well, harps are cool, and cellos. [00:15:35] Speaker E: Are not heavy at all. Oh. All right, then. [00:15:39] Speaker A: You just had to take that on me. [00:15:40] Speaker E: Stole your thunder. [00:15:43] Speaker A: All right. [00:15:44] Speaker E: All right, then. Until next time, people. Peace. [00:15:46] Speaker A: Peace. [00:15:47] Speaker C: Bye. This has been a Tatanka Enterprises production.
