[00:00:32] Speaker C: So you got to get your freestyle on. Yeah, buddy. Oh, I can't wait to hear this.
I am your co host Pat.
[00:00:43] Speaker D: And I'm producer aaron.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: Right on.
[00:00:47] Speaker C: Did you do it?
[00:00:47] Speaker B: It came back to me.
[00:00:49] Speaker C: It only took three episodes.
[00:00:51] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just like automatic.
[00:00:52] Speaker C: It's like riding a bike, but you get back on.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: Well, look, I almost had to go to my phone and watch one of our podcasts to see they had to.
[00:01:02] Speaker C: Watch a podcast to see how you do your.
[00:01:06] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:07] Speaker C: Really?
[00:01:08] Speaker B: Yes, I did.
[00:01:10] Speaker C: You were going to I was going.
[00:01:11] Speaker B: Thank you. I was lost for a second. What we was talking about before our little blip. Yeah.
[00:01:19] Speaker C: Hey, how are we doing anyway?
We got something.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: We do.
[00:01:24] Speaker C: We do.
In the spirit of trying new things, remember that whole Mustard Dorito fan?
You say, oh, man, but you went and bought, like, multiple bags. Just suck, man. Sucked the stuff.
[00:01:40] Speaker B: No, you bought two more, but one here.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: But then he remember he sucked all the yeah, you licked all of the seasoning.
[00:01:47] Speaker D: All the powder off.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: Yeah, the seasoning was good, but I've.
[00:01:52] Speaker D: Been excited about these.
[00:01:56] Speaker C: We now have Doritos Cool Ranch lay's potato chips to try for limited time flavored.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: I wonder how this is going to be.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: I don't know.
Who's going first? Aaron. I think producer Aaron goes first because he's been so excited.
Can't smell because my nose is still stuffed up.
[00:02:20] Speaker B: Really?
[00:02:20] Speaker C: I'm still a little.
[00:02:25] Speaker B: Can you breathe over that way? Don't pay me back, budy.
[00:02:29] Speaker C: They smell like Cool Ranch. Don't pay you back. Don't be yeah, they kind of do.
[00:02:32] Speaker D: It's weird.
I like it.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: Is not as robust of a flavor.
It's almost like watered down Cool Ranch.
[00:03:12] Speaker D: Well, also keep in mind that there's probably they probably had to change it up a little bit to make it stick to potatoes on top of corn.
[00:03:19] Speaker C: Yeah, it's definitely a Cool Ranch flavor.
And I'm hungry.
Man down.
What do you think as we sit munching in everyone's ear?
[00:03:36] Speaker D: I'm about it.
[00:03:37] Speaker C: You like it?
That's probably the only bagel they'll ever.
[00:03:41] Speaker D: Get because they've been sitting there for a month.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Well, everything's limited, so they buy them up and you never get to eat them again.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: It's not bad. Yeah.
I like potato chips, though. I like the dorito Cool Ranch.
[00:03:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: But if I didn't have them and they had these, hell, yeah.
[00:04:04] Speaker C: Oh, I got something else for next episode to try. Excellent. Yeah.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:04:09] Speaker C: So anyway, is it Mr.
[00:04:10] Speaker B: Beast?
Nothing.
What? Hi.
[00:04:18] Speaker D: They've already had all of them, I think.
[00:04:21] Speaker C: Yeah, we've tried them all.
[00:04:23] Speaker D: Beast bars are great.
[00:04:24] Speaker B: What?
[00:04:24] Speaker C: The beast bars.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: What that's what you did to me.
What? I don't know.
[00:04:33] Speaker C: Mr. Beast. Good chocolate.
Never want some good chocolate.
[00:04:38] Speaker D: It's real.
[00:04:40] Speaker C: So, anyway, now that we've introduced ourselves and now that we've tried potato chips, what are we talking about? Besides Cool Ranch, Flavored Potato Chips and Mr. Beast bars?
I don't think you're getting that bag back.
I think the same with producer Aaron.
[00:04:59] Speaker B: 31 21 is the song.
[00:05:01] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: It was 2008. However, in 2007, they did a live recording of it, I believe. Right?
[00:05:10] Speaker C: Yes. On Indigo Nights.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: That's it.
[00:05:13] Speaker C: Which that is cool. That was a book that came with the CD.
[00:05:18] Speaker B: You got that?
[00:05:19] Speaker C: No, I don't.
[00:05:19] Speaker B: What the hell, man?
[00:05:21] Speaker D: I want it, dude, 2008. That was the middle of the financial crisis.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: Okay.
Just full of info. I like that.
[00:05:32] Speaker C: That's what a producer is for.
[00:05:34] Speaker B: Hell, yeah.
[00:05:35] Speaker C: So I'd really like to get it.
[00:05:37] Speaker B: But it's expensive now.
[00:05:39] Speaker C: I don't know. It's a few hundred dollars on ebay.
[00:05:42] Speaker B: You can't get it, like, on no.
[00:05:44] Speaker C: They only made, like I don't know, it's, like, one printing. They made so many of them, and that's it. They don't keep printing them.
[00:05:53] Speaker D: Like a full blown book.
[00:05:54] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a picture book.
[00:05:55] Speaker D: Oh, just a picture book?
[00:05:57] Speaker C: I think it's just pictures, but it's, like, thick. It came with a CD.
All right, put these away.
[00:06:04] Speaker D: I'm going to keep eating them.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: I find the song. Okay.
[00:06:12] Speaker C: Yeah, that whole album was just kind of okay for me.
Yes, but, you know I'm sorry, what.
[00:06:23] Speaker D: Album was it on?
[00:06:24] Speaker B: 31 21.
[00:06:25] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
[00:06:27] Speaker C: And there's a whole big to do over what the 31 21 meant at the time he wrote and recorded the song is the address of the house he was renting from some basketball player, and I guess he painted stuff purple without his permission. There's a big to do on that. Yeah.
Let me rent your house and paint it purple.
[00:06:49] Speaker B: I'm trying to remember the basketball player's name because I don't remember.
[00:06:52] Speaker C: It was a big one.
Yeah, that was funny.
Let me see if I can find it in my notes.
[00:07:01] Speaker D: Go for it if you want to try it.
If it's a big one, wouldn't it be, like, Michael Jordan or something?
[00:07:12] Speaker B: What?
[00:07:13] Speaker D: Dwayne Wright. Dwayne dwayne wade. Is that his name?
[00:07:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:17] Speaker C: What are you doing?
[00:07:18] Speaker D: He's trying the chocolate bar now.
[00:07:20] Speaker C: You're going to try?
[00:07:21] Speaker D: Let me show you, man.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: You kind of saw them. All right, buddy. Look, it was like because you're the producer brother.
[00:07:32] Speaker D: No, I just know how to eat chocolate.
[00:07:34] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:07:41] Speaker C: I've not seen anything about the Whose House.
[00:07:45] Speaker D: It's also got a share piece on it if you want to share a piece with your kids.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: I want to share. No.
Hell no.
Did you find it?
[00:07:57] Speaker C: No, I just said I didn't find it.
[00:07:59] Speaker B: I couldn't hear it. I was listening to my producer. My producer.
[00:08:03] Speaker C: Your producer? Yeah.
Do you want to do this podcast on your own. Is that what you're saying? Are we breaking up already? No, this band didn't even make it a year.
It's like being a boy band in the don't even get an album out, and next thing you know, everyone's got solo projects.
So yeah, I wasn't quite a really big fan of the song.
They only did the two versions. However, they did stream it.
You like that? Yeah, they did do a streaming version. And I've got what?
[00:08:52] Speaker B: On what? Like on title or 31 21?
[00:08:55] Speaker C: On what on 31 21.
[00:08:57] Speaker B: Com. Oh, that ain't there no more.
[00:09:00] Speaker C: None of his websites are there anymore, except for the official one. Man, did it get like a little kick in the back or what?
[00:09:11] Speaker B: It was like a whole kick of salt.
[00:09:14] Speaker D: He had the sea salt bar.
[00:09:17] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:09:18] Speaker C: Freak out.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: No, I like that. That's good.
[00:09:21] Speaker D: Salty sweet, baby. It's the best thing ever.
[00:09:24] Speaker C: It's like a Reese's With potato chips in it.
[00:09:27] Speaker B: Well, it needs a little salt on there.
[00:09:29] Speaker C: So anyway, on the stream, there was a three minute and 32nd version, and then like a 1 minute and 52nd version, which they kind of eliminated and went to the 330.
I have the 150 version, but I cannot find that three minute 32nd version. The full version that they streamed. I got the Snippet that they streamed, but I can't find the other one.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: So you got the Snippet of it, but I don't got that came first.
[00:09:58] Speaker C: Correct.
[00:09:58] Speaker B: But the one that came after you don't have yeah.
[00:10:01] Speaker C: Which is the fuller version.
[00:10:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:03] Speaker D: Got to love the Internet.
[00:10:06] Speaker C: And then I also have the version that they did on the Bet Awards. So there's four versions, technically five, if you count the Snippet. And the full version is two separate things, which I won't.
[00:10:23] Speaker B: Dude, keep talking.
[00:10:26] Speaker C: So you can keep eating. Is that what this is?
[00:10:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:29] Speaker C: So I'm going to do the pocket.
[00:10:31] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:10:32] Speaker C: Let me just talk to you.
[00:10:33] Speaker B: There you go.
[00:10:34] Speaker C: Let him eat because apparently it's dinner time.
[00:10:37] Speaker B: I don't have any notes.
[00:10:42] Speaker C: Because you just didn't care about the song.
[00:10:44] Speaker B: It was okay.
It wasn't great.
[00:10:47] Speaker C: No.
So, I mean, this is the title.
[00:10:50] Speaker D: Track of the album. Is it like the first song on the album, too?
[00:10:53] Speaker B: It is. Okay.
[00:10:54] Speaker C: And it really like I said, I wasn't impressed with that album as a whole to begin with.
[00:11:01] Speaker B: One of this slave thing, too, on.
[00:11:03] Speaker C: The this is after yeah.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: Wasn't he wearing red? No.
Sure? Yeah.
Okay.
[00:11:14] Speaker D: He was playing that telly, though.
[00:11:18] Speaker C: He's always playing that, so yeah, it's not the greatest it's not bad. It's not a horrible song.
So says Basic Tracking took place in 2004.
[00:11:38] Speaker D: Would the one that they stream that full three minute whatever one wouldn't that just be the album version?
[00:11:44] Speaker C: No, because it was live.
So he did a stint in Vegas where he just like a Katy Perry.
[00:11:57] Speaker D: Sort of thing, where he had, like, his show.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: His show. You could go see the 31 21 show in Vegas at the Rio.
[00:12:04] Speaker D: What do they call that?
[00:12:06] Speaker C: It's having a residency. Yeah.
[00:12:08] Speaker D: That's pretty cool.
[00:12:09] Speaker C: Yeah. And so he streamed this from one of the performances at the residency. And the thing is, a lot of artists tend to stick when they create a live show, they tend to stick to that same show.
They'll change up a little bit here and there, but Prince just always playing something different. And even if he plays the same thing, he plays the song differently and adds different things. So I have other bootlegged versions of the song from his residency that are actually clearly different.
Yeah, but I don't have the one that he actually streamed.
[00:13:01] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:13:02] Speaker C: If that makes sense.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:03] Speaker C: So the one he streamed was done in April. The ones I got are from, like, November and December. So he had done, like, people on.
[00:13:11] Speaker D: Their cell phones or whatever.
[00:13:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:13:14] Speaker D: Granted, 2008 cell phones probably weren't that great, so it's probably, like, handicams or something. Yeah.
[00:13:24] Speaker C: But there are no.
[00:13:27] Speaker D: Covers.
[00:13:28] Speaker C: Covers, samples, remix, no nothing. So there's just the five. Technically five?
Four, if you want to.
[00:13:35] Speaker D: Different cuts from prints.
[00:13:37] Speaker C: And only one of them is studio.
The others are all live, the Indigo Knights one, which we have. I don't have the book, but I have the music CD and then the live performance on Curious on the Bet Awards. Where Will? I am raps with them at the end.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: Interesting.
[00:14:04] Speaker C: He hates it.
He's like, I can't believe they brought Will. I am up.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: I can't stand that freaking moron.
[00:14:12] Speaker C: So we'll find it, but it's called Indigo what? Indigo Knights.
[00:14:17] Speaker D: KNI or no knights.
[00:14:24] Speaker B: Carlos Boozer.
[00:14:26] Speaker D: Carlos 21 nine c moser. Box set. Black Power pride.
Is that it?
[00:14:37] Speaker C: That is it.
[00:14:39] Speaker D: $25.
[00:14:40] Speaker C: What? For the book.
[00:14:42] Speaker D: It's a whole thing.
[00:14:44] Speaker C: Where'd you find that?
[00:14:45] Speaker D: At Ebay.
[00:14:50] Speaker C: That can't be right.
[00:14:51] Speaker D: I'll send it to you.
[00:14:53] Speaker B: Carlos Boozer. B-O-O-Z-E-R. What about him? Who's? The basketball player.
[00:15:00] Speaker C: Did you look it up?
[00:15:01] Speaker B: I did.
[00:15:02] Speaker C: That's the house he painted purple?
[00:15:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:04] Speaker C: He was not happy.
[00:15:06] Speaker D: Never heard of him.
[00:15:08] Speaker C: I thought it sounded different. I thought it was a bigger so did I.
I never heard of him. That was wrong.
[00:15:15] Speaker D: Well, the other ones probably wouldn't have been upset because that's probably one of their ten houses.
[00:15:21] Speaker C: Right.
[00:15:21] Speaker D: Whereas I've never heard of that cat. So that was probably his one, maybe two houses, max.
[00:15:27] Speaker C: Imagine his family. But think about it, man. I mean, you rented it to Prince, he paints it purple. Dude, you could have sold that house.
[00:15:37] Speaker D: Unless he just took a paintbrush and.
[00:15:39] Speaker C: Just kind of no, Prince don't just do that.
He painted it purple. I think he even painted, like, the driveway purple or something like that, too.
[00:15:48] Speaker B: Imagine the guy's face when he came home.
[00:15:50] Speaker C: Came home.
I know he was upset.
[00:15:54] Speaker D: I'd have been like, damn, that's kind of cool.
[00:15:59] Speaker C: He did not say I didn't even.
[00:16:00] Speaker D: Have to pay for it.
I got paid to let him do it.
[00:16:04] Speaker C: To let him do it. Yep. He paid me to remodel my house.
[00:16:08] Speaker D: Heck, yeah.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: So, yeah, I found that story kind of funny.
[00:16:14] Speaker D: Well, Carlos boozer boozer boozer kind of an ass man, apparently.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: So I got a couple side notes.
[00:16:24] Speaker C: Okay. They didn't have.
[00:16:28] Speaker B: My brother got fired.
[00:16:32] Speaker D: From the NBA.
[00:16:35] Speaker B: The NBA of Taco Bell. Yes.
[00:16:42] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:16:43] Speaker B: Just letting you know.
Second thing, I thought it would be really cool because my food critic guy, he does this, and so I thought it would be cool to do it on our podcast.
[00:17:00] Speaker C: He mislead you.
[00:17:02] Speaker B: No. But he did try some Taco Bell thing just yesterday. Okay. He was ticked.
[00:17:08] Speaker D: The enchilada burrito.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Yeah, the chicken enchilada. Where's the chicken?
Where's the beef? Right? He opened it up, and he showed it was pretty much all rice that was in this thing in red sauce and whatever. Anyway, so anyway, he reads, like, comments, messages that were sent to him. So I would love to read a message that was sent to us.
[00:17:35] Speaker C: We have messages. We have a message from someone other than us.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: From somebody other than us.
It reads can you read it?
[00:17:47] Speaker C: Put your glasses on. They're right there. Dude so blind you can't even see your glasses.
It reads it reads, dear sirs, please stop doing what you're doing.
The world would be a much better place.
[00:18:03] Speaker D: If I may, where was this message received? Is it a review that was left on the podcast, which you can do, especially on Apple. You can leave reviews.
Or was it a message in Facebook? This is a review left on Apple podcast.
[00:18:17] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:18:18] Speaker C: He doesn't know where he got the message.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: Can I read it?
[00:18:21] Speaker C: Well, read it, but go for it's. Your show.
[00:18:28] Speaker D: Just trommania, dear.
[00:18:36] Speaker C: Go ahead.
[00:18:37] Speaker D: My bad.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: Dear Alphabet Suite podcast, could you please tell me how the tim got so sexy?
[00:19:13] Speaker C: Know where to go after this now?
[00:19:17] Speaker D: Well, on a serious note, that's something that if the people would like to see and hear, that that's something that we could do.
[00:19:24] Speaker C: Yeah, hit us up, man.
[00:19:26] Speaker D: Let us know in the comments if you'd like to have us read comments or reviews.
[00:19:33] Speaker C: Give us comments.
[00:19:34] Speaker D: Well, yeah, of course.
[00:19:35] Speaker C: And reviews. And let us know. Let us know if there's something I know for sure.
[00:19:39] Speaker D: You can do it on Apple podcasts. I'm not 100% on the other platforms.
[00:19:45] Speaker C: And maybe one day we will explain to you how he became such a sexy MF.
[00:19:53] Speaker D: He was reading to himself from himself.
[00:19:57] Speaker C: If you really want to know how he became a sexy MF beast Bars.
[00:20:03] Speaker D: I mean, he only recently discovered the greatness that isn't Mr. Beast bar.
[00:20:10] Speaker C: Anyway, 31 21. Don't you want to come?
That's where the party be.
[00:20:17] Speaker B: So where the party at?
[00:20:18] Speaker C: You can come if you want to, but you can never leave, right?
[00:20:24] Speaker D: That's not my kind of party. I like to quietly slink out the back and make sure nobody realizes I was there.
[00:20:30] Speaker C: After you done blew up the toilet. Yeah.
Couldn't find any Lysol to cover it up.
[00:20:36] Speaker B: All right, I'm out of here, guys.
[00:20:40] Speaker C: Anything else?
I think we've done blown this one up as much as we can.
[00:20:47] Speaker D: Dude, he played that so well, too.
[00:20:53] Speaker C: It peace.
[00:20:54] Speaker B: Peace.
[00:21:09] Speaker C: Did that just come to you on the fly? Did you?
[00:21:13] Speaker B: It did.
