[00:00:02] Speaker A: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet suite, Podcast. For the Prince songbook, there are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen. [00:00:12] Speaker B: Okay, welcome back to another episode of Alphabet Suite Podcast. I am your host, Timothy. [00:00:19] Speaker C: Yes, you are. Thank you, Captain Obvious. It that would make me your co host, Pat. [00:00:30] Speaker D: And I'm producer aaron. [00:00:34] Speaker B: It's been so long, I forgot what I do. [00:00:39] Speaker D: Why don't we talk about that so people have an idea of what's been going on? [00:00:44] Speaker B: Yes. [00:00:45] Speaker D: Why we haven't posted for like, two weeks. [00:00:47] Speaker C: Why haven't we posted for two weeks? [00:00:49] Speaker B: Well, let's see. Two weeks ago, I fell ill. Maybe three weeks ago, I fell ill and I was down for like, a week. [00:00:58] Speaker C: And then you thought you were good. [00:01:00] Speaker B: And I thought I was good. [00:01:01] Speaker C: And then it came back. [00:01:02] Speaker B: It came back. And then I decided to pass it to his wife and him. So we were down, and somebody's been working very hard on another podcast. Well, that we're going to do. [00:01:15] Speaker C: We need to make that announcement. First and foremost. We've mentioned it and we've hinted around about this for the last few episodes. [00:01:28] Speaker D: Even I don't know what they're talking about. [00:01:30] Speaker C: Well, we've talked about it. [00:01:31] Speaker B: What are you looking at? Like something was on the table. [00:01:35] Speaker C: I didn't know what you're putting on there. You're glass a pair of glasses. I see that. [00:01:39] Speaker B: But it looked like you would see. [00:01:40] Speaker C: Guitars, so I had to look around the guitar. Oh. [00:01:42] Speaker B: I was thinking it was one of them tables that got digital stuff in there and it comes up on there. That'd be cool. [00:01:51] Speaker C: Like Star Trek. [00:01:53] Speaker D: Anyway, we don't have that kind of budget. [00:01:56] Speaker C: Not yet. Not yet. So we've talked about we started our Patreon page. [00:02:03] Speaker B: The lottery is tonight. [00:02:05] Speaker C: It's over a billion dollar. Okay, that's got nothing to do with what we're talking about. [00:02:10] Speaker D: I know, but we can get that Star Trek table. [00:02:15] Speaker B: That's what made me think of the okay, go ahead. [00:02:18] Speaker C: So anyway. [00:02:19] Speaker B: Patreon. [00:02:19] Speaker C: Patreon. We got our Patreon Patreon page going. So if you all want to want to sponsor us on Patreon, that'd be cool. [00:02:26] Speaker B: Or you could check us out on Alphabet. Sweet. Podcast on Facebook. Alphabetsuite podcast on Twitter or Alphabet. No. [00:02:38] Speaker C: AlphaSuite podcast. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Podcast at Gmail. [00:02:42] Speaker C: Correct. [00:02:42] Speaker B: See, I would do it. I was flowing until you stopped me. Usually I twitter. It's always Twitter. [00:02:47] Speaker D: So the web page still says Twitter.com, though, does it? [00:02:54] Speaker C: Okay. [00:02:54] Speaker B: Anyway, because we forget sometimes. [00:02:58] Speaker C: Now, we've always talked about how we wanted to get people to listen to the music, right? [00:03:04] Speaker B: Correct. [00:03:05] Speaker C: Oh, man, if only there was a way. We started a sister podcast called the Alphabet Suite. Playlist. It's only on YouTube. It's not on a podcasting platforms. [00:03:18] Speaker D: So it's not a podcast. It's just a YouTube channel. [00:03:20] Speaker C: It's a YouTube. Thank you. So we started a YouTube channel. [00:03:23] Speaker B: That's a producer. [00:03:24] Speaker D: Yeah, it's all right. [00:03:25] Speaker C: Someone's got to know everything, because it sure ain't us. [00:03:28] Speaker B: Right? [00:03:29] Speaker C: So if you go to YouTube and you look up Alphabet Suite Playlist, you're going to find all the songs we're talking about. Yeah, buddy, with one caveat. Let me stop that. We post one a day. We post a new song every day. And they're not in any we're kind of in alphabetical order. [00:03:55] Speaker B: I'm trying to get to that. Yeah, but I'm fixing it as we go. [00:03:59] Speaker C: Yeah, but you will be able to hear when we start talking about a song, you're going to be able to hear it now. Just go to the Alphabet Suite playlist. [00:04:10] Speaker B: As long as we have it. [00:04:11] Speaker C: As long as we have it. If they don't tell us no. So far we've been pretty lucky, I think. There's only one that they said we couldn't do. The rest of them say the artists are okay with you posting. [00:04:24] Speaker B: And I told this is why I don't like Tony, man. It has to do with him. [00:04:28] Speaker C: It's all because of Tony's. To the wire. Creamy Instrumental will not let us post. And what's really cool about YouTube, when they say you can't post it because of copyright, they tell you because between this time and this time, it is Tony M's copyrighted rap. [00:04:51] Speaker B: That's crap. [00:04:53] Speaker C: So to The Wire Creamy Instrumental can. [00:04:55] Speaker D: You mute that part of the song. [00:04:57] Speaker B: Then you can take it out. [00:05:00] Speaker C: You can take it out. They said if you take it out, you can play it. [00:05:02] Speaker B: And I'm thinking it merges from where it cuts and just skips right into know, I think I didn't try. [00:05:09] Speaker C: Could we could, like cut it out, do an edit where we cut that out and then we just talk smack about Tony. Hey, bro, he go, I'm just saying. [00:05:19] Speaker D: Or Timmy T could dub over his rap as Timmy T. Oh, you rap, man. [00:05:25] Speaker B: I got it. [00:05:25] Speaker C: Maybe we should do that. Maybe we'll do that. And then there's one other one where it wouldn't let us post it, but it's already posted on Prince's page. So we're trying to link Prince's video to our page somehow. [00:05:42] Speaker D: I already told you how to do that. [00:05:45] Speaker C: He can't figure it out. [00:05:47] Speaker B: You didn't tell me how to do it. Neither did you. [00:05:49] Speaker C: I don't know. Anyway, so long story short or short story long, we now have a sister channel called the Alphabet Suite Playlist. [00:06:01] Speaker B: Did you say short story long? [00:06:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:06:04] Speaker B: I like that. [00:06:05] Speaker C: Okay. Where you can now go and you're going to be able to start listening to all the music we're talking about. So we're doing all the work so you can hear all this music and not have to go hunting it down. [00:06:16] Speaker B: Yes. [00:06:17] Speaker C: So way cool. Anyway, back to this episode. [00:06:20] Speaker D: Are those songs going to be linked to the relevant episodes of the podcast and who's going to be doing it? [00:06:27] Speaker C: Oh, that's a good idea, too. What, you just link the songs to the. [00:06:39] Speaker B: Let'S talk about this. [00:06:40] Speaker C: Yeah, let's talk about it because I. [00:06:42] Speaker B: Don'T really want to look really stupid. [00:06:45] Speaker C: So we'll talk about it later. All right. But yeah, that's a good idea. Yes. Thank you for doing Aaron. [00:06:52] Speaker D: You're welcome. [00:06:53] Speaker C: You get a double rock on that's two. [00:06:56] Speaker D: Can I just get dinner? [00:06:58] Speaker C: We are going to do dinner. We're buying pizza, I think. [00:07:03] Speaker D: Good enough. [00:07:05] Speaker B: I would say I had pizza last night, but I can't call that pizza. [00:07:08] Speaker C: Okay. Pizza Hut pizza is not pizza. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Garbage. [00:07:12] Speaker D: Get out of here. [00:07:12] Speaker C: So what episode are we talking about? [00:07:16] Speaker B: Yes, we are talking today about an unreleased 1995 was the year so set. [00:07:27] Speaker C: The Way Back Machine 30 years ago. [00:07:29] Speaker B: Correct. 2020. [00:07:31] Speaker C: No. 1995. [00:07:33] Speaker B: No, the song. 2020. Okay, you know what the song is. [00:07:38] Speaker C: I know. [00:07:38] Speaker B: All right, let's talk about the other. [00:07:41] Speaker D: Important thing that's not happening. [00:07:48] Speaker B: Is that a song? [00:07:50] Speaker C: It is. [00:07:54] Speaker D: So people need to know. [00:07:57] Speaker C: So you may be wondering, oh, where is 1999? Doesn't 1999 come before 2020? Yes, it does. You don't have to remind us. Don't get mean with us. However, due to circumstances beyond our control with illnesses and work schedules and family matters, and the fact that there are 100 freaking covers and samples of 1999 that I'm tracking down just for you, we're going to hit a couple of songs after 1999 while I finish up 1999, and then we're going to come back around to 1999. [00:08:46] Speaker B: So you're welcome. [00:08:47] Speaker C: So you are welcome. So we didn't forget it. We're just postponing. And you are correct. We are doing that too. We have to change our upload schedule to back to once a week. Yes. Because of everything going on. It's just we're going to try to get things situated and get back to at least two a week later. But for now, just because time and we don't want to make people think they're going to get something when they're not. You're expecting something. I mean, we've already missed like three episodes, so we want to try to be consistent with our output. So we're going to go back to just Mondays for a little bit once things settle back down. And I can find all 743 versions of 1999, we're going to try to get back to two a week soon, but for now, we're going to go back to once a week. [00:09:55] Speaker D: In the meantime, if you want some additional content, check out the Patreon page. [00:10:00] Speaker C: There will be additional content on Patreon. [00:10:02] Speaker B: There is. It's cool stuff right now? [00:10:05] Speaker C: Yeah, there's cool stuff. [00:10:06] Speaker B: Did you subscribe yet? [00:10:08] Speaker C: I have not, but I'm you were. [00:10:09] Speaker B: Such a slacker, bro. [00:10:11] Speaker C: It's part of why I haven't gotten all the 1999 yet. I am working seven days a week, 10 hours a day. [00:10:18] Speaker B: Is that all? [00:10:18] Speaker C: That's it. I know. So yeah, for the foreseeable future. So anyway, 2020 is a song from 1995 that is unreleased. [00:10:34] Speaker B: However. [00:10:36] Speaker C: We have it. [00:10:38] Speaker B: We do. [00:10:39] Speaker C: We do. [00:10:40] Speaker B: And we just listened to it. [00:10:44] Speaker C: Because we had to prep for the somebody forgot his notes and computer and everything. So we're kind of shooting from the hip here. Yeah. [00:10:53] Speaker B: My notes are poopy. [00:10:54] Speaker C: Yeah. Not very much. So what did you think of it? [00:11:00] Speaker B: It was too short. [00:11:02] Speaker C: Too short? [00:11:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:04] Speaker D: Is it a promotional piece? [00:11:06] Speaker C: It was not a promotional piece. It's a full song. [00:11:13] Speaker B: It was like, what, a minute and 20 seconds? [00:11:15] Speaker C: It's like two minute song. It's like a minute 50 something. [00:11:18] Speaker B: Dude, this ain't pretty short. [00:11:19] Speaker D: That's pretty short for a song. [00:11:21] Speaker C: It is short. Especially when you compare it to Other Prince. [00:11:24] Speaker B: Well, back in the 60s, like a minute 59. Two minutes and 30. [00:11:28] Speaker C: Yeah, two minutes was very common back. [00:11:30] Speaker B: In the this ain't the, though. [00:11:33] Speaker C: No. The song did not even sound like it's from the 50s or 60s. [00:11:36] Speaker B: But it's unreleased, which means there's probably. [00:11:39] Speaker C: A finished this was just not according to what I found. This is the only version that is known to exist. [00:11:47] Speaker B: That sucks. [00:11:48] Speaker C: It is actually pretty well produced. I mean, it wasn't raw, like, demoy. [00:11:55] Speaker D: Like, this is something that could come out and then it was a couple. [00:11:58] Speaker C: Of years that sounds like he had it ready and was on. Because it said in my notes, it says it was the 7th track on the 1995 New World Album Project which morphed into emancipation as time went on. But yeah, it was the album that. [00:12:16] Speaker D: It was originally made for did come out in a different form. [00:12:20] Speaker C: In a different form in the future. Correct. Okay. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I think the music was really good. [00:12:27] Speaker D: Does that mean there's no horns? [00:12:28] Speaker C: No horns. There was no horns. [00:12:30] Speaker B: No horn. Slow. [00:12:31] Speaker C: It was very nice. Slow and melodic. [00:12:33] Speaker B: The way you sang. It was great. [00:12:35] Speaker D: So like a love song? [00:12:37] Speaker C: Yeah, kind of. [00:12:39] Speaker B: It just kind of made me want more. [00:12:41] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean, even lyrically, I think there might have been 30 words. 30. 40 words total in the song. Yeah, it was a very compact wonder. [00:12:59] Speaker D: If it was like some sort of intermission on that it could have been album that it could have been. [00:13:06] Speaker C: It's kind of what it felt like. It's just like a transition piece. Yeah. [00:13:09] Speaker B: What they call it a Sega. Who? [00:13:11] Speaker C: Segue. Segway Sega. Segue. [00:13:18] Speaker B: So it was a good song. I liked it. [00:13:22] Speaker C: And it didn't hurt that my TAFE sang out. [00:13:25] Speaker B: Oh, man. [00:13:26] Speaker C: Right off the bat. [00:13:28] Speaker B: Right off the bat, man. [00:13:29] Speaker C: Yeah. My tape loved it. [00:13:32] Speaker B: So by the way, just so you know, Nelly likes Cocoa Puffs, so Nellie's. [00:13:42] Speaker C: Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. [00:13:43] Speaker B: He is letting you know that. [00:13:46] Speaker C: Why are we on this Nelly thing? [00:13:49] Speaker B: Because I was doing a little research on looking for other songs by Prince to see if make sure we didn't miss anything. [00:13:58] Speaker C: Right. [00:14:01] Speaker B: Forgot I was doing my mouse because I had it. And then I was doing the laptop. Well, then I said, OK, the you know, it's touch screen. So I went to click it. And then by that time Dominic bumped my arm and so my finger went over and I clicked on a Nelly video. [00:14:20] Speaker C: And that sent you down. [00:14:23] Speaker B: I remember this. [00:14:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:14:27] Speaker B: So then I just started looking at I was watching the words because I just came up with the close captions. Yeah. For the three chains of gold. And I just got done watching that. Wrote some notes about that because it was just funny, man. [00:14:45] Speaker D: It wasn't three gold chains. [00:14:48] Speaker C: Phineas Too. [00:14:50] Speaker B: Dude, I looked phineas too up. I wanted to find him. All that came up is Phineas and Ferb. I'm just saying because I've never heard it. [00:15:01] Speaker C: We played it. [00:15:03] Speaker B: I don't recall that. [00:15:04] Speaker C: Well, you can't say you've never heard it. You can say, I don't remember what. [00:15:06] Speaker B: It sounds like, but I don't think you're telling me the truth. [00:15:10] Speaker C: You posted the video, you got the music. [00:15:13] Speaker B: I do. [00:15:16] Speaker C: The video. [00:15:18] Speaker D: I don't know what you have on. [00:15:20] Speaker B: The laptop. [00:15:23] Speaker D: But I know because we talked about it and how interesting it is. [00:15:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:33] Speaker B: Good song. [00:15:36] Speaker C: Okay. [00:15:37] Speaker D: Three Gold Chains or 2020. [00:15:39] Speaker C: No. Three gold chains is not a good song. [00:15:41] Speaker D: Somebody liked it. [00:15:43] Speaker C: Did they? [00:15:44] Speaker D: Somebody he had to. [00:15:47] Speaker C: Did he? Did we not discuss the same thing? Well, no, think about it. Because we had a discussion with producer Aaron a few episodes back about how when you create music on Musical Enhancers, when you are no longer on Musical Enhancers, you realize that the music you created was not really what you thought it was. [00:16:07] Speaker B: It was good at the time though. [00:16:09] Speaker C: So I'm thinking maybe Phineas have liked. [00:16:12] Speaker D: It enough to put it out there. [00:16:14] Speaker C: Either that or he was still on Musical Enhancers when he put it out there. [00:16:18] Speaker D: He could be one of the most sober people you've ever met. More sober than you. [00:16:22] Speaker C: He could be. And if he is and that's what he's making, god bless him. That's all I got to say about that. Anyway, I have nothing. Yeah, I think I'm good with this episode. You good song. And you know what? You guys are going to get to hear it eventually you will. Because we're posting music, remember Alphabet Sweet playlist only on YouTube.
