[00:01:01] Speaker E: What's that sound mean? [00:01:03] Speaker A: That means it's time for another episode of Alphabet. Sweet podcast with your host, truly. [00:01:11] Speaker E: Timothy. You're like, what? You mean in the 7th? [00:01:17] Speaker A: That's what I. I gave my last name. [00:01:21] Speaker E: You did? [00:01:22] Speaker B: That's okay now, people. [00:01:25] Speaker E: Tony, if you're out there listening, you now know who he is. [00:01:30] Speaker A: Get him. Get over here. And you are? [00:01:37] Speaker E: I am your co host. Not giving my last name, Pat. [00:01:45] Speaker C: And I'm producer Aaron, who can bleep out your last name if you want. [00:01:49] Speaker A: Swaz. Oh, rock on, Ragon. [00:01:55] Speaker E: I forget my fingers got, like, screwed up. I couldn't do it. [00:01:59] Speaker A: I've done that many times. [00:02:00] Speaker E: It's contagious. [00:02:03] Speaker A: So today I would like for you to know. [00:02:08] Speaker E: What do you like that you need the mic by your mouth? [00:02:11] Speaker A: Ain't turn up. Dude. [00:02:12] Speaker E: What? [00:02:12] Speaker A: I was looking coming back. [00:02:14] Speaker E: I wasn't even come back. [00:02:17] Speaker A: Boom. Okay. It's like that. You know, the stupid coughing at his shoulder thing. I don't know what the hell. Oh, right here. What was this? [00:02:27] Speaker E: Looked like you were licking your arm. [00:02:30] Speaker A: What is that? Come on, Aaron. What is that? No, you can't see. [00:02:34] Speaker E: Say what? He's talking about coughing in his arm. I don't know what he means. [00:02:37] Speaker C: Dabbing on people. [00:02:40] Speaker A: They had a song. It was a big thing. Yeah, dance thing. [00:02:44] Speaker C: Oh, soldier boy. I don't know. [00:02:51] Speaker E: You're the producer. You're supposed to know these things. [00:02:53] Speaker A: What's wrong with you? [00:02:54] Speaker C: I don't know everything. I just work here. [00:03:00] Speaker E: And paid poorly to do so. [00:03:03] Speaker A: And. Okay, so ain't turning around. Well, that's all together. [00:03:09] Speaker E: Ain't turning around. [00:03:11] Speaker A: It's all one word. All one word. So. Hello. Okay, what do we got? What we got? Okay. This is Prince and third eye girl. [00:03:25] Speaker E: Yes. Which I always thought was kind of a stupid name for a band, but hey. [00:03:30] Speaker A: I hate that freaking glasses, man. It just drove me mad. [00:03:37] Speaker E: Yeah, that whole thing was stupid. [00:03:38] Speaker A: I'm getting a tattoo, but not a third eye. No, no, it's a prince tattoo. [00:03:44] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. [00:03:45] Speaker A: So I'll be able to share it with everybody. Yeah, I got some ideas. I was running around, but dudes like, well, I can't do that one right there because I ran out of purple. How the frick do you run out of purple? [00:04:02] Speaker E: You need to go to a different dude. [00:04:03] Speaker A: I'm saying, if you ain't got purple, man, buy more. Right? That's what I'm saying. But he did, you know, throw me some ideas, and I was like, man, this. This dude's good. He's a good artist. He's good. [00:04:18] Speaker E: Buy more purple. [00:04:19] Speaker A: Buy more purple. I will buy the. I even told my nephew, I'm like, if I buy the purple for him, is that good? You know? [00:04:28] Speaker E: But you're getting your nephew involved in this. That could be bad. [00:04:31] Speaker A: Well, it's my nephew's guy. Yeah, he does good tattooing. Manuel's tattooed himself up now. [00:04:41] Speaker E: Okay. Anyway. [00:04:44] Speaker A: And then he's getting fat, so his. [00:04:47] Speaker E: Tattoos are getting bigger. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Yes, they are. [00:04:51] Speaker E: And so you save money, get them while you're skinny, and then you get bigger tattoos when you're fat. [00:04:55] Speaker A: Anyway. Okay, so. [00:04:56] Speaker E: All right. [00:04:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:57] Speaker E: Okay. All right, so. [00:05:00] Speaker A: So, yeah, it's the third track off the 36th album. It all kind of blended together. [00:05:11] Speaker E: And what's the name of the album? Cause the name of the album, I thought, was kind of a. I didn't quite get it. [00:05:17] Speaker A: Okay, you go ahead and say the name of that. [00:05:19] Speaker E: Electrum. Electrum. [00:05:20] Speaker A: Electrum. [00:05:21] Speaker E: Electrum. Electrum. Or electric guitar. [00:05:24] Speaker A: Electron. [00:05:26] Speaker E: What, is that what that means? [00:05:28] Speaker C: No, the. The pet Plektrum is your pick. [00:05:32] Speaker E: Okay. Plectrum. Electrum. [00:05:34] Speaker C: So, like, some weird play on an electric pick, huh? [00:05:39] Speaker E: I did not know that. [00:05:42] Speaker A: But what you did know is that the singer was Hannah. The drummer Hannah. [00:05:48] Speaker E: She's hot. [00:05:50] Speaker A: I like Ida. [00:05:51] Speaker E: Do you? [00:05:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:52] Speaker E: Oh. [00:05:52] Speaker A: I mean, I like them all, but. [00:05:54] Speaker E: I would take Hannah in a heartbeat. But she's married. [00:06:01] Speaker A: Is she? [00:06:02] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. She's actually married to someone who worked with Prince, like, a lot. And I don't know if that's how they meth or what, but, yeah, she's married to Joshua Welton. [00:06:18] Speaker A: Oh. [00:06:19] Speaker E: Yep. He co produced and produces a lot of princess music at the time, so I don't know if they were married at the time or what. But, yeah, Hannah is. First of all, she's an amazing drummer, and. But, yeah, she is just unbelievably hot. [00:06:35] Speaker A: Well, there we go. Let me see if I can look at her. [00:06:38] Speaker E: But she also is the lead vocalist on the song, so. Which I thought was kind of cool. Are you looking her up? [00:06:51] Speaker A: I am. I sure am. [00:06:53] Speaker E: So why are you looking her up, huh? Just because you can't, or you just want to see how hot she is? [00:07:00] Speaker A: I want to see if she's. But looking good. [00:07:01] Speaker E: Oh, wow. She's a good drummer. [00:07:09] Speaker A: First of all, she definitely is. Oh. [00:07:15] Speaker E: Did you find her blonde chick? Yep, she's blonde. [00:07:23] Speaker A: Uh oh. [00:07:24] Speaker E: Uh oh? What do you mean, uh oh, what? [00:07:31] Speaker A: She was with another group. [00:07:36] Speaker E: You say that like she was cheating on her own group. [00:07:40] Speaker A: I didn't know. I thought it was just prince, you know? [00:07:43] Speaker E: Oh, no. I think that all three of the girls that were in third eye girl had things before prince. If I remember right, I could be remembering wrong, but I think I know after him. They've all had stuff, but I thought they were all doing something before him, too, but. So we're getting way off topic again. What do you think of this? [00:08:06] Speaker A: She's okay. [00:08:07] Speaker E: She's okay? [00:08:08] Speaker A: Yeah, she's all right. [00:08:10] Speaker E: You think she's just okay? [00:08:12] Speaker A: Yeah, she. I don't think she's butt looking good, but she's okay. [00:08:18] Speaker E: Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. [00:08:21] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. [00:08:24] Speaker E: Well, we'll let Aaron be the final call. Aaron. [00:08:28] Speaker C: Who am I looking up? [00:08:29] Speaker E: Hannah. H a n n a h. Welton. W e l t o n. She's. [00:08:35] Speaker A: Like a. Alita Ford. Sexy. [00:08:39] Speaker E: Oh, no, not even to me. [00:08:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:43] Speaker C: Yeah, she's pretty. [00:08:44] Speaker A: Yeah, she's all right. [00:08:47] Speaker E: See? More than all right. [00:08:50] Speaker C: She's got a good smile. [00:08:51] Speaker E: Yeah, she does. [00:08:56] Speaker A: She's got nice looking skin. [00:09:00] Speaker E: That's important. [00:09:02] Speaker A: It is. [00:09:04] Speaker C: She kind of looks like she's playing in, like, a hailstorm like metal band. [00:09:10] Speaker E: She is good on the drums. This girl can. Can drum. [00:09:15] Speaker A: Anyway. All right, so, yeah, I thought it was a great song. She definitely has a great voice. Not just, you know, just great drumming, but her voice is pretty freaking awesome. [00:09:30] Speaker E: Yeah, it's very unique, too. [00:09:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:33] Speaker E: So that's what I thought was kind of cool. [00:09:36] Speaker C: I'm gonna play some of her drums. [00:09:38] Speaker E: You don't play some of her drums, like, for us to hear or for you to hear? Yeah. Yes. It's either gonna be for us or for him. This was apasic 2017. [00:10:08] Speaker A: Is that live? [00:10:09] Speaker E: Yeah, this is her just performing live. Is she drumming and singing? No, she's just drumming, but she wrote, produced and sang this song called the woman's intuition. She's a good drummer man. What you think? I dig it. Yeah, she gets into it. She does. So this song, she also just quick sign know that. [00:10:47] Speaker C: I was gonna say, she has an interview on YouTube where she's talking about what it was like drumming with Prince. [00:10:53] Speaker E: Oh, we're gonna have to check that out. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Yep. [00:10:56] Speaker E: That'd be really cool. So. But this song ain't turning around. So one thing I will say. Yes. Third eyed girl, kind of a silly name for band. His glasses, kind of dorky, ridiculous. And even though every song title on the album, plectrum Electrum, is all done into one word, which I don't know why he did that. I mean, it was Prince. He always did some weird things for me. This album came out at the same time as artificial age. He released them both at the same time. One was so artificial age was just Princess and plectrum electrum was prince and third eyed girl. Two totally different albums. Plectrum electrum is rock. I mean, it's just Prince rocking out like, you just amazing. [00:11:49] Speaker A: Loved it. [00:11:50] Speaker E: Yeah. And then artificial age is more prints with his funk, but they came out at the. On the same day, at the same time. And for me, these two albums were like, it is like, I don't even know how to describe it, but I felt like Prince still has it because some of the stuff he had been doing before these, I felt like, okay, he's written his best music and he's now just writing stuff just because it's there. But it's. It really didn't feel like, man, this is just Prince. You know? It felt like he was in his twilight years and just reaching for ideas, and the music began to really kind of lose its awe and magic and everything for me. And then these two albums came out and I was just like, oh, he's back. He is just. This is Prince again. I mean, these two albums just. You could, like, just spiked right back up there, you know, both of them. Both albums were just so amazing. So this song is. I can't say enough about anything. These two albums, everything on there was just fantastic. And this song blew my mind. It was just great. [00:13:13] Speaker A: So I take it you liked it a little bit. [00:13:16] Speaker E: A little bit. [00:13:19] Speaker A: That's hilarious. [00:13:21] Speaker E: Yeah, well, I mean, think about what he was doing before this, you know, not that the music was bad. I never, you know, it just. It wasn't like the way I judge music on how great it is. And I shouldn't say judge, but the way I kind of rate it would if I had this CD, would I pull it off the shelf? To listen to it, right? You know, if there's a. And not even. Because if I buy it, I want to hear it. But there's times I would buy a cd, I'd heard one song and I'd buy a CD and I'd be like, yeah, that was only a good song on it. So it just stayed on the shelf. But if I went to the whole shelf of music and. And wanted to hear something, would I pull this off the shelf to listen to it? Some of his music before this, you know, in. In the two thousands, I. It would be a rarity that I'd want to pull it off and listen to it. I. When this. When plectrum, electrum and artificial age came out, I played the crap out of these, man. [00:14:23] Speaker A: Right. [00:14:24] Speaker E: I would still. Now, right now, I would go and pull these off the shelf and listen to them. [00:14:29] Speaker A: Hell yeah. [00:14:30] Speaker E: So. So, yeah, for me, this was a return to his greatness that he was in the eighties and nineties, so. But that's just my opinion. What the heck do I know? [00:14:45] Speaker A: I'm glad you shared that. [00:14:49] Speaker E: Well, I know for you, I think these were the first albums you listened to from him after a long break from stuff, isn't it? [00:14:59] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [00:15:00] Speaker E: Cause I know you kinda quit listening. I don't know if just listening to music altogether or just prints. For quite a few years in there, I went through a prince free stage. [00:15:13] Speaker A: No, I went through a whole slew of just. [00:15:18] Speaker E: I don't know, life. [00:15:20] Speaker A: Life. And the music I listened to was like. I don't know even remember what they called it. It's like typo negative and people like that. [00:15:33] Speaker E: Very gothenitive. Yeah, very dark. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Dark. Very dark. [00:15:38] Speaker E: So you went through a very dark time in your life. [00:15:40] Speaker A: Yeah. So, yeah. [00:15:45] Speaker E: So what'd you think of this song? [00:15:46] Speaker A: I already told you. Yeah, I already read my notes. It's a great song. She's got a great voice. Not just a great drummer, but she has that voice. I could listen to her all day, man. [00:15:58] Speaker E: Yeah, cool. [00:15:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I like Ida, too. [00:16:02] Speaker E: Yeah. What about Donna? The guitarist has her head shaved. I want you. [00:16:09] Speaker A: Did you just call me Donna? [00:16:11] Speaker E: Hey, Donna. [00:16:14] Speaker A: Yes. I think it's Facebook that maybe it was x. I don't remember. But we were like, you know. Yeah, we're linked. [00:16:31] Speaker E: You're linked. [00:16:32] Speaker A: We're linked. [00:16:33] Speaker E: Like, see your soulmate, I mean. [00:16:36] Speaker A: No. [00:16:37] Speaker E: What are we talking about here, man? [00:16:39] Speaker A: Let me see if I can. [00:16:40] Speaker E: You're linked. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:42] Speaker E: I don't get that. [00:16:43] Speaker A: Just give me a minute. Talk about something else. [00:16:46] Speaker E: Well, we're kind of done talking about the song and everything. [00:16:49] Speaker A: Oh, well, then I can tell you afterwards, then. [00:16:51] Speaker E: Yeah, it did come out in 2014. We can add that in there. June 26 or September 30, 2014. [00:17:01] Speaker A: So this was just Prince playing music, then? [00:17:04] Speaker E: What was? The song? Yeah, well, he played. Yeah, but they played the music, too. [00:17:12] Speaker A: Yeah, but he was just. [00:17:15] Speaker E: He was supposed to. He says he does backing vocals on it. [00:17:17] Speaker A: I don't hear him in that. [00:17:19] Speaker E: Yeah, I don't hear him either. [00:17:21] Speaker A: Huh. [00:17:22] Speaker E: Yeah, maybe. [00:17:25] Speaker A: Um. Yeah, I thought I could find it quick, but I can't. What I was talking about. [00:17:30] Speaker E: Oh, about you being linked. [00:17:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:33] Speaker E: Linked to Ida. [00:17:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:37] Speaker E: Oh, well, I'm sure she's happy you're linked with her. [00:17:45] Speaker A: Yeah. She's got that wicked sexy look. [00:17:50] Speaker E: The wicked sexy? [00:17:52] Speaker A: Wicked sexy look? [00:17:54] Speaker E: What does that mean, the wicked sexy look? [00:17:56] Speaker A: If you don't know about it. [00:17:58] Speaker E: Yeah, don't worry about it. [00:18:04] Speaker A: Anyway, so. Yeah, that's. That's. I think we said all we could say. [00:18:08] Speaker E: Okay. [00:18:08] Speaker A: And. Peace. [00:18:11] Speaker E: Peace. [00:18:12] Speaker A: I finally got to close one out. [00:18:14] Speaker C: Bye. I guess this has been a Tatanka Enterprises production.
