[00:00:00] Speaker A: It is now disclaimer time. [00:00:02] Speaker B: We are here to share Prince's works with the utmost authenticity, clarity, and precision. This means there may be situations where the material being discussed may be sensitive or offensive to some. However, we have chosen to discuss his work as it was initially produced. We will not alter any of his original work to suit anyone's comfort, including in our own. This podcast is to celebrate Prince and his works. [00:00:29] Speaker C: Thank you for your support and understanding. Now, on to the show. [00:00:35] Speaker D: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet Suite podcast for the Prince songbook. There are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen. [00:00:46] Speaker A: Welcome back to another podcast of the Alphabet suite. That's something different. [00:00:55] Speaker E: It is different. [00:00:56] Speaker A: Otherwise, I'm just. [00:00:57] Speaker E: Otherwise, you're just. Yeah. [00:01:00] Speaker A: I am your host, Timothy. [00:01:06] Speaker E: What was that? What the heck, man? [00:01:10] Speaker A: What happened? [00:01:11] Speaker E: I am your host, Pat. [00:01:14] Speaker C: And I'm producer Aaron. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Right on action shots, bro. [00:01:19] Speaker E: Now we're in action. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm trying to put, like some sort of twist. No, what they call that when you put something together, like a resume type thing, but for action. Because Alphabet. Sweet podcast. From what I heard from rumors that we are supposed to be part of a new lethal weapon part 22 that will be out in ten years. So I do my action because we're supposed to do more action. They said. [00:02:00] Speaker E: I missed that memo. So we're going to be in Lethal Weapon 22, our podcast, in ten years. In ten years. That's a lot of movies for them to make in ten years. They better get busy. [00:02:13] Speaker A: I think my glasses are hungry. [00:02:16] Speaker E: That's because of the action. [00:02:19] Speaker A: Okay. Anyway, what are we doing? [00:02:22] Speaker E: We're preparing for Lethal weapon 22. That's what we're doing. All right. What? What are we talking about? [00:02:34] Speaker A: I don't know. I can't see it now. Well, put your crooked glasses place. [00:02:38] Speaker E: Get your crooked glasses back on your. [00:02:40] Speaker A: Crooked face look how much dust. [00:02:43] Speaker E: Dude. Your headphones are, like, all over your head, too. That's probably part of the problem because I'm trying to get used to our new equipment. [00:02:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm getting there. [00:02:53] Speaker E: We can try different headphones if you. [00:02:55] Speaker A: Want a positive place. [00:02:58] Speaker C: Speaking of a positive place, you should check out patreon.com. [00:03:01] Speaker F: Alphabetsweetpodcast. [00:03:03] Speaker E: That's a very positive place. [00:03:06] Speaker A: He thinks he's cool because he can just go right into a glitch. [00:03:09] Speaker E: He knows he's cool. [00:03:13] Speaker C: I do try my best. [00:03:15] Speaker A: You're good at that. Okay. [00:03:18] Speaker E: Yeah. Positive place. [00:03:20] Speaker A: So it's unreleased. [00:03:22] Speaker E: It is. Have we heard it, though? [00:03:26] Speaker A: I don't remember. [00:03:29] Speaker E: We listened to it. That's the one with Robin singing. [00:03:32] Speaker A: Yes, we have a dude, I didn't hear TC up in there. [00:03:36] Speaker E: No, neither did I. Does it say he's in there? [00:03:38] Speaker A: Yeah. TC rap. [00:03:40] Speaker E: Where do you say that? [00:03:41] Speaker A: Oh, never mind. I was going to say they do. It was recorded at the same time. [00:03:45] Speaker E: As TC and they got me excited because of TC. [00:03:49] Speaker A: Yeah. I like TC. [00:03:50] Speaker E: I know you do. I think we've established that before. [00:03:52] Speaker A: But then you get that moron next to it. Anyway. Does it say the lubricated lady? [00:04:00] Speaker E: Yeah, that's a good song, actually. But we'll talk about that later on. [00:04:07] Speaker A: All right. [00:04:11] Speaker E: For me, I know that we're getting a little off topic and that never happens, but. Right there was that cream, when he did cream, and he made that huge japanese imported maxi single for it. It was actually called, like, NPG, new power. I don't know. Anyway, but he had some of his, in my opinion, some of his best b sides. Lubricated lady love, left love. Right. I mean, that was just some good stuff. But this was supposed to be. It was recorded at the same time as all that. He did a couple songs with Robin, actually. Do you remember that song? I don't know if you heard it because it's another unreleased one called number one. [00:05:01] Speaker A: No. And by the way, we're speaking of. [00:05:06] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. Thank you. Thank you for Robin Power. So she did. [00:05:11] Speaker C: You mean not Batman sidekick? [00:05:13] Speaker E: Not Batman. No, not Batman sidekick. Robin. No, this is. Timmy's gone. Hang it up. He's thinking of prince and, like, little spandex tights now. I'm sure that's what it is. [00:05:33] Speaker A: That's funny. [00:05:34] Speaker E: Okay, that's not too far off. No, not really. So he did at the end of Graffiti Bridge, when they're running the end credits, they played that whole number one, if I remember. He. He was working. I don't know if they were ever supposed to do an album together, if they're working on a full album, him and Robin. But, yeah, this is another one that they did. And I enjoyed it. I mean, we got it. So it will be posted. Everyone can hear it. I enjoyed the song. [00:06:05] Speaker C: Where will it be posted? [00:06:06] Speaker E: It will be posted on our sister channel, on the YouTube, which is called Alphabet. [00:06:13] Speaker A: Sweet playlist. [00:06:17] Speaker E: So you will be able to hear it there. I don't picture this one being blocked. [00:06:23] Speaker A: I like the song, too. I don't know why females have to rap, though. Oh, my God. It drives me crazy. But some can. Cardi B. Sorry. Robin Powers. She's pretty good at it, but there's a lot that I'm just like. [00:06:40] Speaker E: So when you think of female rappers and you think of the ones that prince has helped, you got Carmen, cat, cat, you got Robin. [00:06:56] Speaker A: Carmen's so sexy. [00:06:58] Speaker E: So what I'm saying, though, is think about it. Do you like the women that prince had rap? Do you think they rap? [00:07:06] Speaker F: Well. [00:07:09] Speaker A: Yes. [00:07:10] Speaker E: Okay. Did you like Mavis Staples rapping? [00:07:16] Speaker A: No. [00:07:16] Speaker E: You did not? [00:07:17] Speaker A: That was different. That was just so all over the, just like, be like Aretha Franklin rapping. People are like. Because I'm not used to that. [00:07:32] Speaker E: So did you not like her rapping or did you not like the idea of her rapping? [00:07:38] Speaker A: The idea of her rapping. [00:07:39] Speaker E: So when you listen to a man called Jesus, which we discussed in an earlier episode, I don't remember what you said, whether you liked the song or not. Do you remember? [00:07:51] Speaker A: I have notes. [00:07:56] Speaker E: That's probably one of the times I didn't. Probably one of the songs you didn't take notes on. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Was that before 1999? I think I might be in trouble. [00:08:13] Speaker E: I don't think you remember. [00:08:14] Speaker A: Anyway, wait a minute. [00:08:19] Speaker E: Producer Aaron, I think he's looking up our old podcast now to see if he can see if he liked it or not. I heard a little something in the background. I heard that. [00:08:29] Speaker A: I don't think I took notes because I didn't hear it until I got here. [00:08:33] Speaker E: We started to do the. Okay, so overall, you think the women that Prince picks to rap, they do a good job rapping? [00:08:46] Speaker A: I think, yeah, I think Prince, he's good at finding and knowing what type of like, except for maybe staples, she's not a rapper. And I don't know what they were thinking. [00:09:07] Speaker E: Well, we're going to find out when Aaron finds out what you really said. [00:09:12] Speaker A: And it was okay, but just anyway, but I think Prince is pretty on know and he knows what people can do and what they can't know. I think he has a good feel for. [00:09:29] Speaker E: Robin. [00:09:30] Speaker A: Robin. Yeah. [00:09:32] Speaker E: Okay, so you did like the song? [00:09:35] Speaker A: I did. [00:09:36] Speaker E: Okay. Because that's the only version is the one and that's. [00:09:44] Speaker A: One song. [00:09:45] Speaker E: So I wonder. I really should have done some more research to find out on this, but I didn't think about it until just now because I'm always trying to get the music done so we can do the podcast. [00:10:00] Speaker A: Correct. [00:10:00] Speaker E: So I try not to squirrel and go off into these little rabbit holes, these little tangents, but I wonder if he was actually working on an album with Robin. So let me see if I can do any kind of quick little research here that didn't work. That sucks. Yeah, um. I feel like an idiot for not have done that. [00:10:46] Speaker A: What were you thinking or not thinking? [00:10:50] Speaker E: Well, because, like I said. [00:10:55] Speaker A: Focused in on the music and you don't want to do what I do because I always go down different avenues and then. [00:11:05] Speaker E: Yeah, it looks like it was included on a 1990 configuration of the new power generation maxi single, but was removed. So it doesn't look like he's actually working on an album with her. But it was supposed to be on that maxi single that I was telling you about that has lubricated lady and love left. Love right. All the good stuff. [00:11:35] Speaker A: It doesn't mean that he wasn't. [00:11:37] Speaker E: You are correct. It doesn't mean he wasn't working on an album with her, because he worked on albums with so many people. And that's another thing I'm hoping that we start to see from the estate, the Prince estate. [00:11:55] Speaker A: Right. [00:11:56] Speaker E: Start releasing some of this. I think we talked about it before. Wouldn't it be cool to get like a madhouse box set? [00:12:01] Speaker A: Dude, that would be awesome. [00:12:04] Speaker E: With all of the madhouse, both versions of 24 that have been done and eight and 16. Give us that. Give us Maserati with everything. Give us Jill Jones, because I know Jill Jones did more than what was on her album. Give us the family, give us more tc. I'm sure there's more tc out, so. And there's a lot of projects that he started with people where they did music and they never were released at all. You know what I mean? [00:12:39] Speaker A: Yeah. What was it? [00:12:42] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:12:43] Speaker C: If I may. [00:12:44] Speaker E: You may. [00:12:46] Speaker C: Timmy T did not seem to have any sort of major negative reactions to a man called. So he was also impressed with Mavis Staples rapping, talking about how she and Prince have a similar flow. [00:13:05] Speaker A: Yes, I remember that now. [00:13:07] Speaker E: So now his opinion from today has changed. [00:13:10] Speaker C: But I did not clearly see, I didn't go through the whole video. I tried, but I did not see anything definitively saying that he did not like the song. Okay, I could be wrong. [00:13:24] Speaker A: So there we go. [00:13:28] Speaker E: So you did like her rap. I think the idea of Mavis rapping. Yeah. Well, because when you think of a classic gospel r b artist like Mavis Staples, and she's got just that raspy, sexy voice, you know? [00:13:53] Speaker A: Right. [00:13:53] Speaker E: You don't picture that rapping especially fast the way she was rapping. [00:13:57] Speaker A: Right. [00:13:59] Speaker E: But like Carmen. Carmen raps really fast. [00:14:02] Speaker A: Oh, Carmen, yeah. [00:14:04] Speaker E: Even cat, she's got a. Yeah, she can rap fast. [00:14:07] Speaker A: I know they got more cat up in there. [00:14:10] Speaker E: Up in where? Up in the think because they were actually working on an album and she scrapped it, right? You left him? Yeah, she left. Work with someone. [00:14:21] Speaker A: How do you leave Prince? Walk out and then go somewhere else? [00:14:25] Speaker E: What did you do? [00:14:27] Speaker A: Prince is still rising. Rise, rise, rise, rise, rise. And you are like, what? Nobody knows what you're doing. [00:14:33] Speaker E: How many people worked with Prince that got dumped on where either he decided, yeah, we're done, and he moved on to something else. That's what I'm saying. I bet there's tons of stuff in the vault from other people that we probably don't even know. Know. We're going to do some protein. I think we got some beef. We got some beef. This is my turn. So we got Bricktown. [00:16:55] Speaker A: I'm not good with bags, bro. You see what I did to the bag? [00:16:59] Speaker E: It's the same as the nut. Same as Aaron's nut bag. You get his nuts and his meat. [00:17:07] Speaker A: Bricktown jerky. Soft and tender style jerky. Original. [00:17:13] Speaker E: So the original from jerky.com. From what? Jerky. Jerk. Go to jerky.com. [00:17:21] Speaker A: Jerky.com. [00:17:22] Speaker E: Jerky. My lips don't seem to work now. Oh, so there's going to be multi episodes with this. Well, does it look like jerky? [00:17:39] Speaker A: Smells like it. [00:17:44] Speaker E: You got to grab a piece. [00:17:48] Speaker A: It was in my hand and then it disappeared. [00:17:52] Speaker E: It stayed in the bag. [00:17:54] Speaker A: It didn't want to leave. [00:17:58] Speaker E: Okay, Bricktown, get over there. [00:18:03] Speaker A: I don't think I've ever heard of these guys. [00:18:12] Speaker E: Okay, I'm going to tell you right now, I have the same problem with this that I have with almost every other jerky I've ever had. Too sweet. Too sweet. Why does everyone put sugars in their jerky? [00:18:28] Speaker A: This is very sweet. [00:18:30] Speaker E: Yeah, it is soft and tender. [00:18:33] Speaker A: I don't mind it, but yeah, it is very sweet. [00:18:36] Speaker E: Yeah. Wow. That is like overpowering sweet. Who? I'm going to say. I'm not a fan of that, but almost every jerky I've had, there's a few with zero sugars. And those are what I really like because you get these hearty, like, hickory. More of a hickory flavor. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Okay. [00:19:13] Speaker E: But yeah, go to jerky.com and you can get some of these flavors. Yeah. Not a fan of that one now it's all stuck in my teeth. [00:19:33] Speaker A: Goes good with that popcorn over here. [00:19:37] Speaker C: They also have a thing going on. If you do like jerky, you can go over to jerkytaster.com and sign up. [00:19:44] Speaker E: To be a jerky taste tester. Now, if they were going to do some sugar free jerky, I'd love to do taste testing. [00:19:53] Speaker C: They might have it. I don't know. [00:19:55] Speaker E: I just got like this. [00:19:56] Speaker C: You ought to try a bunch of flavors, bundle. [00:19:58] Speaker E: Did you? I suppose none of them were sugar free. [00:20:03] Speaker C: No, just a bunch of flavors. [00:20:06] Speaker E: Okay. We'll just keep trying them until you be quiet. [00:20:11] Speaker A: I mean, until you find one you like. [00:20:13] Speaker E: Oh, that hurt. That hurt to the soul. [00:20:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:18] Speaker E: All right. So, positive place, often erroneously titled eliminate the negative. It is not eliminate the negative. It is a positive place. You got it. Good song. Robin Powers sings raps so, yeah, and we have sweet meat with salty nuts. It is just that kind of day. [00:20:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:54] Speaker E: So, yeah, check it out. Check us out on Patreon, too. If you get a chance, you can become a subscriber to us on Alphabetsuite podcast. You can email us [email protected], reach us. [00:21:17] Speaker A: At Facebook at Alphabetsuite podcast, get us on YouTube and any other podcasting platforms. Thank you. I was rolling for a minute, but then I need to write this down. That'd be great. [00:21:34] Speaker C: Okay, so, Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon, and I believe Apple podcasts and Spotify are the ones that you can leave reviews on. [00:21:44] Speaker E: Yeah, leave us some reviews. [00:21:46] Speaker A: Like Google got one. [00:21:49] Speaker E: Got what? Podcast platform. Yeah, it's just Google podcast. Yeah, Google podcast. [00:21:57] Speaker C: I don't think they allow for reviews, though. [00:22:02] Speaker E: But check us out, man. Hit us up. Reach out to us. Tell us if we're doing good. If you're doing bad, tell us what you'd like to see more of and less of. And unfortunately, you can't say less of me. I'm a host. I know Timmy T gets all the fangirl emails talking about how sexy is funny man. [00:22:25] Speaker A: Funny man. [00:22:26] Speaker E: So, yeah. Until next time, people. Peace. [00:22:29] Speaker A: Peace. [00:22:40] Speaker C: This has been a Tatanka Enterprises production.
