[00:00:02] Speaker A: Hello. Welcome to Alphabet Suite podcast for the Prince Songbook. There are hundreds of songs to choose from. You have chosen.
[00:00:12] Speaker B: Okay. Another episode for you. This one's going to be a little different, though.
This is the Alphabet Suite podcast. I'm Pat.
[00:00:20] Speaker C: I'm Tim.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Still haven't changed yet. Tim the iCarly fan.
We're going to talk about that. You know that, right? We're not going to let that one go.
That was pretty daring to bring that up.
Anyway, this episode is the first episode that we're going to be talking about a song that has never been released.
And so it's going to be difficult. This is going to be a real short episode, actually, because I've never heard the song. There's a lot of his music that is unreleased. You can get bootlegs. Who doesn't buy bootleg stuff or hear stuff? You can go on YouTube and hear just about anything you want. Whether it's been released or not, it's out there. And if it's out there, chances are you're going to hear it somewhere. But this one, I searched everything I had and I couldn't find it. I searched the Internet, couldn't find it. So if anyone has it, let me know. I would really like to hear it. It's called Two Nickels and a dime.
I don't even know. Here's the funny thing. How do these people know that this song even exists?
According to my notes, it's from 2005, not included on any album.
I don't get it.
It even says that the title evokes a lyric from the one you want to see, where they say every nickel in this club looking for a dime.
But that was recorded in 2006. They don't think these songs are related.
So the song is unreleased.
I've never heard it. I can't find it anywhere.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: And who is saying this, that it's.
[00:02:12] Speaker B: Like, who's saying what song? Well, that's what I'm saying. But how do they know this song even exists? I know there was leaks and I've got a lot of them, but I couldn't find this one anywhere.
But it's known to exist.
So I know some songs, during my research on some of these other songs that I did, I know there are songs that he registered the name already but never released a song. So they know that's all public record. You can go and look up songs that have been registered and trademarked or copyrighted or whatever they do with them and see.
And he's done a lot of their titles that he's copyrighted and got everything for. So they know that. But this one, usually, if that was the case, during my research, I could find that they would say, we know this song exists because he copyrighted this. Or someone did an interview and mentioned this song, but I could not find any information saying how they know this song exists when it was supposed to be done. Is it supposed to have been recorded in 2005? So unless someone snuck it out or saw it, when they're sneaking out his music illegally and recording it and doing all that, because that's what all the bootlegs were. People were robbing this man blind by sneaking his recordings out.
I'm kind of guilty of buying. I bought them. I wanted to hear the music, so I bought it.
[00:03:53] Speaker C: I myself have done no such thing.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: You're too busy watching iCarly.
Actually, I think around this time was when you had jumped the Prince ship and started the whole new kids thing.
Know, getting the little tail like Donnie Wahlberg.
[00:04:13] Speaker C: You gonna bring that up?
[00:04:14] Speaker B: I'm gonna bring that up. I mean, if we can touch on iCarly, we're going to touch on new kids.
[00:04:19] Speaker C: Oh, my.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: Mean. Yeah. I don't really know what the song sounds.
I mean, when I go through my notes, I got nothing.
[00:04:34] Speaker C: It's interesting.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Other than it was recorded in 2005. It's called Two Nickels and a dime.
[00:04:39] Speaker C: So, yeah, if anybody out there got that, we'd like to know.
[00:04:43] Speaker B: I'd like to hear it. If you got it, maybe you can hit us up and email it to us or do something. Yeah. So if you got any more information than what we got or got a copy of it, let us know.
I got nothing more to say on this one, man, because I don't know what it sounds like. I don't know. 2005, that's around 31 21 time. So does it sound like anything on that?
[00:05:12] Speaker C: Who knows, right?
[00:05:13] Speaker B: Somebody knows. Somebody knows. Someone out there knows. So hit us up. If you got a copy of it, digitally email it to us or send us a link or something. So I got nothing more to say on that one.
You good?
[00:05:30] Speaker C: I'm good.
[00:05:31] Speaker B: Okay, well, till next time. Peace.
[00:05:33] Speaker C: Go, chiefs.
I wanted to throw that in there because I'm wearing the Vikings.
[00:05:38] Speaker B: Really?
[00:05:39] Speaker C: Minnesota. France, chiefs.
[00:05:42] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah.
